Yes, we're back on IndieGoGo. Our first go at fundraising went quite well, raising nearly half our goal but since then things have expanded massively. For those of you who don't know, "Penguin" is the comedic tale of Sam, a young male penguin in the human world. He's just like us, he has a job, friends, and what makes him so similar to the humans is his love troubles. After being rejected by a potential girlfriend for reminding her too much of a "pet". This drives Sam on a journey of self discovery where he tries to determine whether the dating world really is for him.
The film is now bubbling with talent with a cast that includes Arthur Darvill (Doctor Who) and Daniel Caren (The Hike). Behind the scenes are hard workers Jack Gregson (writer/director), David Wright (producer) and Ben Mortimer (producer), three lads who over the past few months have dedicated their lives to bringing this sweet short film to life, they now just need your help to get them over the final push.
We are here to entertain people, that is a first and foremost goal, the script has been praised as funny, witty and original and it is something we want to share with the world. With the recent release of 'The Muppets' it's clear that the world is still hungry for puppet movies and this film is a traditional puppet movie in the tradition of Jim Henson.
What We Need & What You Get
The money will go towards funding the equipment and keeping our cast and crew alive. We'll also need to be able to keep the Penguin in pristine condition whilst filming which seems to be moderately costly. We've been working incredibly hard on this to make it stand out from other short films and that takes money. With your help you'll be helping the creation of an interesting new project and backing people who really want to make an impact on the world of cinema.
Other Ways You Can Help
We would appreciate it greatly if you can spread the word for this project. It is a small movie and will need all the word of mouth it can get, if you can't donate, please share the link on any social network you are a part of incase others are interested. Of course if you donated before we don't expect you to do so again (though it would be greatly appreciated) but please help us get the word out. This penguin will fly!
