(Exciting perks for contributors!)
This family of five (including Patsy!) are living in a very small 2 bed flat that they have all out grown! A new member of the family, a little baby girl is also set to join them in November.
Max’s mum died unexpectedly in April this year and that was hard for all of them, but she left them a surprise passing gift. A sum of money which, though not huge by any means, would finally give the family a real possibility to put a substantial deposit on a house… They very soon found the perfect home that would give the children, their rabbit Patsy, Lisa and Max some much needed space.
It would also enable Lisa and Max to build up the certified therapy practice they have dreamed of as it has the perfect space to facilitate this. They will be welcoming clients into their new home and hope it will help many people on their road to recovery from illness and trauma. Their offer on the house has been accepted and everything was until recently going well, but an unexpected turn of events has meant that unless The Appletons receive a miracle they will not be able to have that chance of a new start, in a bigger home that will change all of their lives for the better and help others in their community too…
With all other options exhausted, they have turned to their outer community to help them through this Crowd Funding Campaign.

Here's the Full Story
Patsy the bunny is all grown up now and needs a bigger hutch. Likewise, her family need a bigger house! Max, Lisa, Che and Amore are doing the best they can to enjoy life squeezed together, with Patsy, in a very small rented 2-bed flat, great for a young couple but not for a family of 5! The children’s room is too small for them to play in. Each day all five snuggle up in the same daytime common space of the small living room and kitchen.
What’s more, a sixth member of the family is soon to join them, as Max and Lisa are having a baby girl in November – that’s 5 weeks away!
How will Patsy ever get any peace and quiet in this environment?
The good news is Max and Lisa have found the perfect place for them all to start a new home where everyone can have their own space, Patsy included, and Lisa and Max can work at home, building their certified therapy practice.
They’ve had their offer accepted for what they believe is an ideal house for the children to grow up in and Patsy to have a nice sized patch of grass to call her own. This particular property also has the perfect space for Max and Lisa to have a practice room to welcome clients into their home who are searching for a much needed boost of energy in their lives and a healthy dose of TLC. Their home-based therapy practice will help people who are looking for greater confidence and direction in their lives as well as providing relief from emotional trauma and conditions such as arthritis, chronic fatigue and IBS.
Patsy, Che, Amore, Max and Lisa are all looking forward to the future and a new life. Everything seemed perfect, but the purchase of the house recently came across a significant eleventh hour challenge….
Earlier this year, Max's mum Louise died at the age of 49, after a rapid deterioration of her health. This was understandably hard for the family, but Louise left them a sum of money that, while not huge by any means, would now make it a real possibility that they could put down a deposit on a house. The whole family would have the opportunity for a fresh start in time for the baby’s birth - whose grandmother will sadly never meet.
The dream of having their own home had seemed hardly achievable given the family’s very low income, and lack of other options. Max has been working as a postman to bring in the bulk of the family’s income, often having to push himself to work unhealthy levels of overtime to make ends meet and to ensure they have extra money to have fun, comfort and achieve in other endeavours, such as research and training for their dream therapy practice.
After such tragic news at the beginning of the year,
with the gift of the small inheritance and finding the perfect house, all seemed to be going well, until Max had to take a lengthy period of time off work due to worsening of the symptoms of his physical condition, which has been causing him increasing discomfort since he was 15 years old. There is light at the end of the tunnel, as the extensive research and training Lisa and he have undertaken in natural healing methods to support him through his issue has recently been resulting in experiences of temporary but complete relief. But at this stage, as his employers and health care professionals have deemed that there is no longer any suitable role they can offer him at the Post Office, he is soon to be put into early retirement.
And the family's Mortgage Lenders who have become aware of Max's much lower earnings in recent months, are significantly reducing the amount they had originally been willing to lend, leaving the family at a shortfall on the finances required to complete the purchase.
It would not be easy to come by another property so ideal for the family, in an area so perfect for building a client base, and at such a manageable expense for their budget. And after Max is no longer employed, they have little chance of being able to apply for a mortgage again any time soon.
Friends and extended family members have done all they can to offer their support.
But with all other options exhausted, however, what the family need now is a miracle… and this is where you can help.
It’s ambitious, but they have everything to lose if they don’t try, and everyone, the family and those who they could go on to help, has everything to gain if it succeeds.
Where The Money Goes
"Every single contribution to this campaign raises the chances of our family being able to move to a home where we would all have some much needed space - something the children especially are very excited about. You are giving us a chance to really change the lives of the children, Patsy, Lisa, and I and all the people we want to assist on their road to happiness and health.
For everyone who can offer their support, we have some SPECIAL PERKS (see below). And if the campaign is a success we will keep you all updated with how we are all doing with pictures and news on what we hope will be a happy ending (and joyous beginning) in our new home and of course the birth of the new baby!
If the funds do fall short of our target, any money raised will be going to the endeavour of establishing our therapy business so that we can at least begin to help others and know we will be heading in the right direction, and further our work to get me back into tip-top condition so my family can have me at my best for them at all times. And if we can find no other suitable living options in the immediate future… we’ll have to do our best with the baby joining us where we are. Eek! Lisa is particularly distressed about this prospect, understandably so, and she is really going to need a lot of help from the children and I and whoever else can support us with the baby. We are very much having to fend for ourselves as both Lisa’s and mine extended families are not very ‘extended’ at all and each 4 hours drive away either side of us.
Wish us luck and strength!
Your generosity and support is very much appreciated and really can make such a difference to our family.
With love to you all and much thanks in anticipation of your support. Che, Amore, Max, Lisa, Baby and Patsy."
Please understand, estimated delivery of perks is given at a couple of months' time (mid-November), because if this campaign is successful, we will have to be very busy getting set up in the new house for a few weeks, and with Baby being born at the beginning of November.
We will endeavour to get the rewards to our contributors earlier while it's all happening if we can.
Of course, even if we don't meet our target, contributors will still be rewarded fully.
