FUNDING PROPOSAL FOR TRAVEL TO RIO + 20:
Dear Sir/Madem
We have received five (5) Airline tickets through donations and are requesting for your support and commitment to the young people by granting the New Future Foundation Inc, (501C3) UN NGO with ECOSOC status, funding for food and acoomidations for five(5). The total fund needed is five thousand (5,000) dollars which can be donated via pay-pal account of www.NewFutureFoundation.org
As president of the New Future Foundation, Inc., which I founded in 1968, and veteran activist at the United Nations for 43 years, I am thankful to you for making it possible for me to attend the United Nations World Conference on Sustainable Development. In addition, your generous contribution will enable my youth delegation to also attend the World Youth Congress, the United Nations Preparatory Conference, and the Rio+20 United Nations World Conference on Sustainable Development (UNCSD,) taking place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from June 13th - 24th. The young people’s delegation and New Future Foundation United Nation’s youth/students grantees are: Patreinnah Acosta-Pelle, Jason Rosario, Alexandre Carualho, Igeoma Simon and Behane Gelin.
Over the past four decades, the New Future Foundation Inc. has been advocating for young people and youth delegate’s participation in the future shaping of a new global paradigm. During this period of time, I trained 100s of individual interns and students in the working protocol of the United Nations. I taught them how to address heads of states and delegations, read documents and prepare statements of member states, to negotiate, lobby and network, and encouraged their study of languages; history and cultures.
As this year marks the 20th anniversary of the original Rio Earth Summit, in which I have been involved and participated in many meetings, sessions and conferences, it has become apparent that, now, more than ever before, the next generation must be mobilized to respond to issues of biodiversity loss, participate in “calls for action” addressing economic, social and environmental challenges which will directly impact their lives, in order to learn to help build prosperous and healthy nations able to sustain a green economy. As such, I will guide the group’s work toward creating a better world.
Raising global awareness throughout the student/youth and young people demographic will spark new energy, innovations, and solutions at both grassroots and global agencies for sustainable development. Knowing their voices are being heard will empower youth to challenge current government and corporate policies, which negatively affect sustainability, and inspire alternative solutions. The skills gained from this trip will provide greater opportunities for the youth/students grantees to become leaders, not only in their schools, and communities, but also at an international level.
.
Blessings,
Queen Mother Dr, Delois Blakely, Community Mayor of Harlem,
