Outside In – The life and art of Alfred McMoore. You’ve probably never heard of Alfred, or seen his art, but he was a very unique and highly visible personality in Akron, Ohio. Due to the fact that he spent much of his life institutionalized struggling with schizophrenia, most people didn’t pay much attention to Alfred. He was truly an outsider artist in every sense of the word. But his art caught the eyes of Akronites, Dan Auerbach and Pat Carney of the Black Keys. In fact, Alfred is the reason the Dan and Pat named their band the Black Keys. This film takes a look at the wonderful artwork of Alfred, and even allows the artist himself to share his inspiration. And interesting character who was never short of hugs, you will understand why Dan and his family were so touched by this colorful artist.
What We Need & What You Get
The film is actually almost complete, we just need help to get it out to the market! We need help with some of our marketing costs, and set-up fees for online distribution. Our funding goal for this phase of the film is only $3,000. What will that do for us? It will allow us to make an HD version available in the iTunes store, and allow us to cover the costs of our first DVD printing, along with promotional costs.

A donation of $50 gets you the digital version and a copy of the DVD signed by the producers! If you donate $500 you will be named an Associate Producer in the credits and on the IMDB page! See, how cool is all of that? For more details check out all the options there on the right side of the screen!
