One Night Only to Appear Off-Broadway as Part of the 2012 Araca Project
Hello! We are a group of Chicago-based actors, musicians and teaching artists. Earlier this year, we flew to New York City to pitch a brand new musical to the Araca Group (Wicked, Urinetown).
We're thrilled to announce that our show One Night Only was selected to appear in an Off-Broadway theater this Fall as part of the 2012 Araca Project!
At One Night Only, every night is the opening (and closing) night of a brand new musical. That's because everything that happens on the stage is completely made up on the spot.
This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to bring Chicago-style musical improvisation to a new audience. Your contributions will make it possible for our team to travel to New York City and bring this project to life.
When is the Show?
One Night Only will preview in Chicago at Stage 773 (1225 W. Belmont) the week of August 27.
We make our Off-Broadway debut on September 11, 2012 at The American Theater of Actors (314 W. 54th Street).
One Night Only is part of the 2012 Araca Project.
Why Are We Fundraising?
Thankfully, improvisation is budget-friendly. Unlike most theatrical productions, we avoid pesky expenses such as sets, costumes and writers.
Still, because we're taking a Chicago cast and crew to New York City, we do have costs to consider. For those reasons, we have set a modest fundraising goal of $7,000.
By making a tax deductable donation to One Night Only, you will help our team
- Travel to New York City
- Rent performance space
- Market the show
- Hire a lighting designer
- Hire a stage manager
- Rent rehearsal space
- Hire a box office staff
- Purchase liability insurance
- Pay third-party vendors
- Reach out directly to New York City's improv training centers to build audience
- And do so much more
What's In It For You?
Because we are being fiscally sponsored by Fractured Atlas, a 501(c) organization, your contribution to One Night Only is tax deductible.
Futhermore, depending on the size of your donation, you may be eligible for donor perks. Check out that information on the right of this screen.
Other Ways You Can Help
If you're unable to contribute, that doesn't mean you can't help us out.
