Fundraiser HUGE Success

Hey All, 

Just an update about the fundraiser we had at the Druid on the weekend from the event coordinator Jade Garland.

" We raised $7000!!! What an incredible night!! Thank you to all who came out! 

A huge thank you to all of the people who volunteered and donated prizes! It couldn't have happened without all of you. It was amazing!!" 

I would also like to give a big thanks to Jade, and everyone else that volunteered, or donated their time or money in anyway, as well as all the people that came out. Thank you so much!

Fundraiser @ The Druid Update!

Hey Everyone! 

The night is fast approaching and I've got some great updates to tell you about. Tickets are in!! $10 a ticket which includes a free drink. Doors open at 5PM. 

We are having an auction at the end of the night with all of the winnings you will have won from the casino games that is being put on by the amazing Lions Club! If you have anything you would like to donate or know of businesses that are willing to donate please inbox me to tell me what you will be bringing and if they need to be picked up (feel free to ask any businesses you wish!). We've got some great prizes rolling in already including an IPAD (from Slave Lake Safety)and much, much more!!

Oksana's Story

On August 5, 2012 Oksana Izio was involved in a car collision with a moose outside of Slave Lake, AB. Upon contact, she sustained injuries to her C5-C7 vertebrae in her spine which has left her paralyzed from her shoulders down. Doctors have given her 1% of any recovery but she is very determined to prove them wrong. Currently, she is in a rehabilitation hospital in Edmonton but will be moving into a new home and continuing her positive recovery process in the New Year.

For those of you who do not know her, and those who do will certainly agree, she is the most uplifting, courageous, self-less, kind spirited person you will ever meet. She has accomplished so many unbelievable things in her life so far - from teaching English in Japan, backpacking Central America, to researching in the Arctic and is so determined on finishing her last semester at the University of Alberta for a degree in wildlife biology. She won’t be stopped!!

By donating you will help so much in her on going recovery. Every little bit counts! She is such an amazing person who deserves the absolute best rehabilitation treatment available. Please help her and her family continue to prosper through this difficult time and to show the doctor’s that she can beat the odds and one day walk again!!
