The grand total of outreach delivered to New Yorkers via the NYC Food Truck Association outreach program was 350,000 hot meals!
Thank you for your help and support in getting this outreach effort off the ground. Thanks to your grass roots support, many corporate sponsors and the NYC Mayors Fund provided ongoing support to keep food trucks out helping those in need until more permanent relief efforts could be put in place.
We have just learned that we have been shortlisted for the NYC Helping Hand Award as one of 10 organizations that demonstrated outstanding leadership to help those who were affected by Hurricane Sandy.
The winner will be chosen by public voting, so please give us your continued support by voting for the NYC Food Truck Association today at: www.cbsnewyork.com/helpinghand
Hi, everyone and thank you so much for your overwhelming generosity! Our food truckers have reported back that the people we are providing hot meals to are EXTREMELY appreciative of your donations.
Because the need is still very much present, we’re extending our fundraising efforts with a second fundraising campaign. Please visit this page if you are able to help out:
Again, thank you so much.
Thanks to all for their incredible generosity! We are so happy to be able to partner with you to get hot meals to those who need them most in NYC. This campaign raised $27,646 which is enough to buy 3,949 hot meals to those in need! The NYC Food Trucks have been generous, so we’ve been able to stretch that even farther… hopefully to 4,500 meals…
We will keep you in the loop about today’s outreach via @nycfoodtruck. We are also working on creating a more sustainable ongoing way to fund this outreach. Our members are very committed to this cause and will continue to serve hot meals to those in need as long as you can help contribute the resources to do so!
We have six trucks booked for Monday. In addition to the 1,000 meals distributed today, planning to distribute 3,000 meals tomorrow!
Our sixth MONDAY truck is booked: Chinese Mirch. Chinese Mirch will be headed out to the Rockaways to distribute free rice bowls to those New Yorkers without power. Follow their outreach efforts @nycfoodtruck or @chinesemirch.
