MEET THE "NO-DRIP CHAIN LUBER:"
FINALLY - A BETTER WAY TO LUBRICATE A BIKE CHAIN.
The applicator rotates closed to prevent leaking. You don't need much lubricant - just one tick-mark.
WHY THIS IS THE BEST CHAIN LUBE TOOL OUT THERE:
Drip bottles are time consuming - you've got to put a drip on each side of each link in the chain.
Spray cans are messy!
Lubricating your chain is a pain. Until now:
MAKES LUBING YOUR CHAIN AS FAST AND EASY AS RIDING A BIKE AND AS FUN (well, almost!)
NO DRIPPING, NO OVER-SPRAY, NO MESS TO CLEAN UP
WORKS WITH ANY LOW-VISCOSITY LIQUID BIKE LUBRICANT
SAVES LUBRICANT = GOOD FOR THE ENVIRONMENT
CLEAN AND SIMPLE. Fill the bottle, not quite full, with your favorite lubricant, and tightly screw on the applicator cap. Open the applicator so it's straight-up. With the bottle upside-down, hold the absorbent pad against the chain. The applicator's guide ribs keep the Luber on the chain. While backpedaling the chain, give the bottle a gentle squeeze, or two. You don't need much lubricant. Spin the chain a complete cycle - or two, if needed - and you're ready to ride! Rotate the applicator down and into the cap to prevent leaking.
A "DOSAGE" SCALE ON THE LABEL SHOWS JUST HOW MUCH TO USE, so you don't use too much! Each tick mark equals approximately one chain lubrication. The 2-ounce bottle includes the foam-lined travel cap, but not the lubricant.
The No-Drip Chain Luber comes with five absorbent pads in a re-usable package. (Package shown with retail label.)
ABSORBENT PADS ARE LONG-LASTING AND REPLACEABLE. Each pad lasts for about twenty chain lubes and can be flipped over for extended wear.
Additional replacement pads are packaged twelve per pack.
PROTOTYPE DEVELOPMENT AND PATENT
It took a few prototypes for the No-Drip Chain Luber to work just right. The design is now ready for production and patent pending!
The No-Drip Chain Luber was announced at Interbike, in Las Vegas, on September 19th. The response was overwhelmingly positive! A lot of shops are interested and we got some great press. Check out this report on the NDCL from PinkBike.
Injection-mold design starts this week (9/24), and I'm delighted to say that the NDCL will be 100% made in America! The mold will take about a month to build and another two weeks to dial in. So I plan on placing material orders in mid-November and should have product ready to ship at the beginning of December.
GREAT PRODUCTS ARE MADE BY GOOD FOLKS. The Luber is designed and made here in California and will be assembled here by the good folks at Goodwill Industries. Goodwill employs people who would not otherwise have jobs, and trains them so they can join the workforce. Most of the content is American made. I partnered with a 50-year old bottle-cap manufacturer in Rhode Island. The bottles are made in L.A., and the absorbent pads come from a company in Minnesota. Your contribution not only helps cover our first production run, but also contributes to the community!
Using my own resources, I've developed a production prototype and have applied for a patent. I'm also covering the cost of the applicator's plastic injection mold. The campaign funds go into the first production run, as well as:
- A special fixture that press-fits the applicator into the bottle-cap.
- A semi-automatic labeling machine.
- A stamping die to cut the absorbent pads from roll-stock.
The funding goal is set so that, if we meet our goal, 100% of the funds raised are applied to the Chain Luber's production. In manufacturing, the more you make, the lower the cost. Please spread the word so we can exceed our goal, increase our production run and keep the price low!
