Help Medical Workers Form Their Consciences With The National Catholic Bioethics Center
With the ongoing implementation of the Affordable Care Act and the HHS Mandate, Catholics who work in the health care industry are facing escalating ethical challenges. Many of these people want to do the right thing when faced with a difficult situation, but might feel blindsided or uncertain about the ethically proper path to take in a given situation.
The National Catholic Bioethics Center, one of the leading Catholic bioethics organizations, has become well known in Catholic circles over the years through their publications and lectures. The Center strives to be an effective force in the Church and society for promoting respect for the dignity of each human being by helping those involved in health care to understand how the moral teachings of the Church apply to developments in health care and the life sciences. Connecting today’s medical workers with this solid organization can help them properly form their consciences in a field that only stands to become more ethically complex as time passes.
We’re asking two things: first, we request a donation of $5, $10, $20 or more, which will be applied to a fund that will be used to pay for gift subscriptions to Ethics and Medics, a publication of The National Catholic Bioethics Center. An annual subscription costs $28.
Second, if you know a Catholic health care worker, a physician, nurse, medical student, nursing student or other health-care professional who would benefit from this resource, you are requested to supply their name and contact information via email to email@example.com, with the subject line “Indiegogo,” and they’ll be put on a recipient list to receive Ethics and Medics when all the funds are collected.
All of us are affected by the serious threats to conscience that are becoming part of the Affordable Care Act, but medical workers feel it more than most. Donate today to help cultivate a culture of life and respect for human dignity in our health care system!
