Help publishing NATURE DIARY – AFRICA!

Planeta Vivo (Living Planet) is seeking help to publish the Nature Diary – Africa. This Diary contains unique illustrations created by Luisa Nunes, Professor of Ecology and Artist. Luisa has spent her life sharing her unique insight about Nature and the World she sees around her. She shares this passion for nature with her paintings. Five years ago she started to compile the first Nature Diary, her idea was to motivate people for field observations and to inspire those interested in the natural world, starting with her own students. The Nature Diary has been published in Portuguese and has been very successful. But now the Publisher Living Planet, in collaboration with Luisa Nunes, is seeking a wider audience. Therefore, in this fifth edition, dedicated to the biodiversity of Africa, Luisa decided to make a full version in Portuguese and other in English.

The Portuguese version is already in press and is named Diário de Natureza 2013-África.  But additional funding is needed to complete the publication of the English version that can be used for three years. Your contribution will go towards the printing and distribution costs of the Diary and, as a perk, you may receive the English and/or Portuguese versions of the Diary autographed by the author, among other really cool perks.

Ajuda a editar o DIÁRIO DA NATUREZA - ÁFRICA!

Luisa Nunes é professora  mas a sua verdadeira paixão é a ilustração da natureza. Por isso, há cinco anos que se dedica à elaboração de o Diário da Natureza, para que todos possam usufruir dessa sua paixão. O Diário da Natureza é uma agenda anual ilustrada que tem sido editado em português, o que limita muito o acesso ao público não lusófono. Por isso, nesta quinta edição, dedicada à biodiversidade de África, a Luisa decidiu fazer uma versão inteira em português e outra em inglês. O Diário será editado pela PLANETA VIVO. A versão em português tem o nome de DIÁRIO DA NATUREZA 2013 - ÁFRICA e a versão inglesa NATURE DIARY - AFRICA. Precisamos da sua ajuda para editar estes belíssimos diários.

A sua contribuição tornará possível suportar uma parte da impressão e distribuição do Diário da Natureza. E ainda receberá em troca um belíssimo exemplar desta obra autografado pela autora, na versão portuguesa ou inglesa, conforme a sua preferência!

For the edition, the Living Planet needs $16,000 to cover printing costs. Eleven thousand have already been raised but the remaining $5000 are still needed so any help will be most appreciated and indeed will contribute in some small way to a better understanding and appreciating of the environment and nature that surround us. You may wish to choose a beautiful perk and this will be sent to you at the end of the campaign. Some of the perks are: A lovely postcard with one of the Nature diary illustrations, an autographed copy by the diary’s author, or, a copy of an engraving numbered illustration also signed by the author (limited edition).

Para a edição, a Planeta Vivo necessita de 16.000 dólares para a impressão e tem 11.000 dólares para esse fim. Por isso, a sua ajuda é preciosa para obter o resto do valor necessário. Em contrapartida receberá (conforme o seu contributo): Exemplares autografados pela autora com o seu nome; Um cartão postal com uma ilustração do Diário; ou, se for muito generoso, uma cópia de uma gravura do Diário numerada e assinada pela autora, numa edição limitada.

This is an unique project. There are no other nature diaries that celebrate the natural splendor of life like this one. Luisa also has other future campaigns that depend on the success of the Diary project. You will be contributing to a larger programme where Luisa will reveal inspiring ways for others to experience and appreciate the natural wonders from different regions on this planet.
