We are a group of International Rescue and Relief students from Union College who are traveling to Nicaragua for the Spring Semester of 2013. While there we will be conducting some informative classes on a few very important issues affecting the indigenous Nicaraguan people. One of these issues is the topic of Malaria. We are attempting to raise a small amount of money in order to purchase some much needed mosquito nets. These nets will be handed out at each of the classes. Because the Miskito people of Nicaragua rarely receive a quality education, there are many basic health ideas which they do not yet understand. We are hoping to raise awareness about Malaria so that we can not only help treat the symptoms of Malaria, but prevent it as well. We are extremely excited about this project and hope you will be as well!
Any way you choose to support this cause would be greatly appreciated! If you would prefer to donate mosquito nets directly to Union College feel free to email us and we will give you our contact information. Also, any publicity we receive will be very helpful.
