We are looking for funds to keep us mobile in our ongoing celebration of community wherever we find it; traveling to different communties and making theatre accesible in their environment. We do ask for a suggested donation at all of our performances for chairs and concessions, but we believe in making the performance open to all whatever they can afford. It is unique to us that our theatre is a truck as we travel state to state, therefore, we are subject to tolls, and other permits as we try to perform in public venues that are a part of Local/National Parks System. Sustaining our travel between venues as far reaching as Chicago IL, Washington DC, Ossining NY, and points throughout New England requires funds for fuel to ensure our ability to reach a diverse audience demographic.
When we travel to each new audience hub we stay in the community for 3-4 days and engage with local business, schools, and artists to broaden our contacts and build a network of support. So your donation has a direct effect on how many communities we are able to reach. Since we are a traveling troupe we are able to utilize social media crowd sourcing techniques to secure an audience, but we also still use funds on promotional materials such as posters leading up to our arrival, and pamphlets and other materials distributed by the cast post-performance. If you are connected to one the communities we have been to in the past or would like to have Momentum come to your community this year you could also donate your time in helping to spread the word and bring the truck theatre to you.
