Greater Boston is buzzing with talk about the Mmmmaven Project and with good reason. A start-up committed to educating the community and beyond about DJing and Electronic Music Production based right here in Cambridge, Masachusetts.
The excitement is so strong, in fact, that we're committing to launching bigger and better, with your help.
What we'll do.
The brainchild of Alexander Maniatis and David Day, Managing and Creative Director of Together Boston (respectively) the Mmmmaven Project is a fully-formed and well-researched plan to activate New England's first new music production academy. Or, as Boston.com put it, the "Harvard of House." In a recent edition of the Sunday Globe print edition, it was said said the project will result in a "more vibrant, creative city," which is also true.

In the fall of 2012, we will launch an even wider array of products and services designed to employ the larger community in the Mmmmaven Project. Armed with the right tools, we have no doubt we can create a sustainable academy and creative economy, bringing the education of technology to the population at large.
What we need.
We would like to raise $35,000. We don't have to reach that goal (any $$ raised will go towards our school) but we would like to get there. And here's why:
The Mmmmaven Project will be a fully-equipped facility. We want our students to access to industry-standard equipment. We do not want our students to have to source their own equipment and/or computers, everything should and will be available to them from within the Mmmmaven Project. Providing this, people can sign up and immediately begin training hands-on with the tools of technology. 100% of money raised will go towards equipment.
We are raising funds to do this right. We’ve developed the curriculum, have committed lead instructors and secured a centralized location but we need to provide equipment for our students & the community.
We are looking for funding to build 7 customized MMMMAVEN Workstations for the Project that included:
-Turntables
(14) Stanton ST.150 Turntables / (7) pairs
(14) Shure M44-7-H Turntable Cartridges / (7) pairs
-Mixers
(7) Pioneer DJM-350 2-Channel Mixer
-Software
(7) Rane SL3 Serato interfaces
-Headphones
(7) Sony MDR-7506 Headphones
+ Desks/Projector/Chairs etc.
if we surpass our fundraising goals, we will able to provide even better, top of the line equipment.
But first we need your help.

What you'll get.
Contributors to our fund will be credited to the fullest and granted particular perks with each level of commitment, beginning with your name on our wall on up to and including t-shirts, thumb drives, discounts for courses, access to Mmmmaven events and even an entire suite of educational experiences for you or someone you know.
By reaching our goal, we can almost immediately make bigger plans to include those local inquires for participation and students, building a self-sustaining, education-driven economy right here in your front yard.
What will happen.
The Project will create a new generation of producers and DJs with a new appreciation for the history and methodology of the now 30+ year-old music people call "EDM." By having the equipment and the lesson plans all set, we can invite the next wave of creative producers and DJs into the world we've all help to build: making new talent, new fans and, most importantly, new music.
All we need is you.
Consider a contribution as laid out on the right or, if you're unable to help out now, use the social media buttons to spread the word to your network that the Mmmmaven Project is coming to town. We'll update everything everywhere via @mmmmavenproject and on Facebook.
And thank you in advance of course. We can't wait to see you in our new space.
**AGAIN: We do not have to reach our goal to recieve the funding. Any $$ we raise will go towards equipment for our students. Thank you, thank you.
