WE DO THREE THINGS:

We sell 100% great American socks. For every pair you purchase, we will give away another pair to someone in need. And finally, we take pride in employing the less fortunate.

Mitscoots is a social enterprise / business (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Social_enterprise) trying to demonstrate that you can be a great small business and do great things. 

1. Get

Mitscoots are quality socks made 100% in the USA. We have our products manufactured in North Carolina and packaged in Austin, Texas. It's our effort to bring manufacturing back to the states.  

2. Give

The need for socks is enormous and we want to do everything we can to take care of it. We have partnered with a number of amazing local and national charities (Salvation Army, Mobile Loaves & Fishes, Goodwill) to help give away as many socks as possible and are excited every day for the opportunity to do it.

For every pair of socks purchased we take a second pair of socks and give them out on your behalf. It might just be a pair of socks and we know it may not change the world, but for someone, it sure will make it better.

3. Employ

We understand that not having a clean pair of socks is only part of the problem. The greater issue stems from individuals in need not being able to provide for themselves. 

With that in mind, we are working with several organizations that specialize in taking individuals off the streets and getting them into steady employment situations. By offering hourly work at well over minimum wage, we are able to offer those that want it, an opportunity to get back on their feet by helping to package our socks and get them shipped out to our customers.

So where will the Indiegogo money Gogo?:

We plan to use the IndieGoGo funding to help make our first big production run and hire a few individuals in need to help us put it all together. This will mean more socks for you and those in need.

About the Owners:

Tim & Agata Scott are a happily married couple enjoying all there is to offer in Austin, Texas. They chase down every adventure that they can find and make the most of every moment. Part of that includes volunteering. That is where they discovered the need for mitscoots and when the idea started to grow.

Agata Scott is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin and is a practicing pediatric doctor of physical therapy. She is passionate about giving and always thinks of others first.

Tim Scott is an Air Force veteran and a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin where he received his masters degree. He currently spends most of his time out riding his motorcycle or handing out socks.
