Mission Trip To Sri Lanka

Short Summary

Well let me just tell you a bit about myself. I am Seanie Gibbs, and I am from Las Vegas, born and raised. Growing up I have always had a passion for art and for sports, but art began to take over my life more and more in the past four years.  Last year I did a Discipleship Training School (DTS) with Youth With A Mission (YWAM) that had a special focus on the arts. 

During this past year, God showed me and revealed to me my hugest passion in life. Which would be working with kids, especially being able to share God's love with them just through my actions.  And being able to teach them art.  I found it a huge blessing while I was in North Africa a few months ago to be able to reach out and connect with kids that I couldn't verbally speak to, but I could use art as a gateway to reach kids.  And it brought me such joy and excitement to see smiles on these kids faces, and to see them truly happy.   

By supporting me, you are blessing these kids at the orphanage and tea plant that I will be working at.  The tea plant has around 450 kids and is a new project, and while I am there I will be gathering information on the kids and helping them update their profiles so that these kids can be sponsored and adopted.  So that they can get money to pay for these kids costs for living.  And at the orphanage, there are around 90 kids that I will be helping take care of, and just spending time with these kids.  Showing them love and attention that they most definetly need.

What We Need

I will be needing approximately $4500 for the time there.

• Around $2300 will be going to my plane ticket.
• And then it costs $10 a day for housing and food which amounts to $1800.
• And the additional $400 will go to travel while I am there.

The Impact

By supporting me, you are helping support the company I will be going to which is Fridsro.  And their main focus and goal is to provide for the poor and needy in Sri Lanka and they do this through running not only a children's home but also a pre-school, weaving centre, community based rehabilitation, medical clinics, disaster relief and much more and is continuously developing and growing.
