Millie's Millions

We found Millie after getting millions of 'likes' on our Facebook page. Now we want to give back and help more animals in need of rescue. $250,000=1M quarters

This campaign is raising funds on behalf of North Shore Animal League America Inc, a verified nonprofit.  Our Mission: Can We Raise $250,000 to Save More Animals?

You may have first seen our family when we kids challenged our dad: if we could get 1 million likes on Facebook, he'd buy us a puppy. He didn't think we could do it, but you proved him wrong! In just 7 hours, we had our million likes. By the time the craziness was over, we had nearly 5 million likes on our pictures and page. Dad came through on his promise, and we adopted Millie (named for her million likes!) just a few days later.

Here's some of the media coverage of our family's remarkable week going viral!

Thanks for giving us a million likes--it was amazing to watch them come in! We saved Millie as a result, but now we want to help save more dogs, cats, and other animals. We're issuing another challenge: how much money can one, dedicated family raise for animal rescue?

We want to raise money for The North Shore Animal League, the world’s largest no-kill animal shelter and the place where we adopted Millie. You gave us your “like” and helped us rescue Millie—now give North Shore just $1 (or more if you'd like) to rescue more animals. You can also help by sharing our campaign on Facebook and Twitter.

Note: our family will not make any money from your donations at IndieGoGo. We're working with North Shore (they're providing many of the perks here) and we will give 100% of the money we raise to them.

Though our viral success was quite a surprise, we hope to use this site to do some good for other animals and to teach our daughters how to use a public platform.

About North Shore Animal League America

Animal League America has saved more than 1,000,000 lives.  As the world’s largest no-kill rescue and adoption organization, we understand that a rescue isn’t complete until each animal is placed into a loving home.  Our innovative programs provide education to reduce animal cruelty and advance standards in animal welfare.  Our staff and volunteers work tirelessly in the pursuit of our vision of a world where all companion animals find permanent homes to end euthanasia. For more information, visit www.animalleague.org.

The money you are so generously donating will be helping to save animals’ lives across the country through Animal League America’s humane relocation program. Animal League’s national humane relocation program is made possible through both established and emerging collaborations with shelters nationwide, in the Animal League’s ongoing mission to add to the more than one million lives it has saved since 1944. North Shore Animal League America’s national humane relocation program has employed well-equipped, climate-controlled rescue vans and mobile units to transport pets from overcrowded municipal shelters (where many would be euthanized) to the safety of the Animal League since 1991.  By doing so, countless numbers of animals have been matched with families and individuals in the New York City Tri-State area, where the demand for these loving pets is great.  This humane relocation effort has already been the Animal League’s most far-reaching program to date, responsible for saving hundreds of thousands of dogs, cats, puppies, and kittens since the program’s inception.
