We started Men of Habit in March of 2011 with the hopes of serving the intelligent menswear community with thoughtful stories, interviews, and advice that guys can't get from the sea of commercial fashion magazines that are currently available. Five months into our journey and our site has grown into one of the premiere destinations for stylish men--it is the place where they can learn about young brands, get exclusive looks at quality product well before it hits shelves, and read conversations with the most knowledgeable men on clothing and style in the world. While we have enjoyed our place on the internet and will continue to improve our content and design, we've always had a dream to create the world's best print magazine for style obsessed men. We have assembled a large team of writers and photographers to make this vision become a reality and are couldn't be happier about the long term potential of this magazine with guys like G. Bruce Boyer, F.E. Castleberry, and Derek Guy all helping with our operation.
Currently, there is next to nothing for an English speaking man who wants to raise his knowledge about style above the low-level information he can pick up in GQ and Esquire. While the Japanese have magazines like Men's Ex, Leon, Free & Easy, and The Suit Catalog, those in America and the UK are without a print source to educate them on style and the clothing industry. With articles on Savile Row tailors, conversations with some of the best known Italian craftsmen, and personal style portraits of the the menswear industry's best, we've positioned our magazine to fill the void that is missing in the market.
What We Need & What You Get
Currently, we have grouped together a team of the best style writers and photographers in the industry and are working with a major New York based publisher to get the magazine launched for Spring/Summer 2012. What we're lacking is the funds to complete the layout and design of the magazine--which is incredibly important to the success of any magazine. With design complete we will be able put the stories we have planned into production and have our magazine hitting the press in a timely fashion.
The goal of $8,000 is an attainable one and every bit of money donated will be going towards the intended cause. We are confident our goal can be reached, but continuing your support past the $8,000 mark brings benefits that will further increase the quality of the magazine. Any excess of our goal will go directly into funding our content so that we can raise the production value of our photography and pay our writers appropriately.
