Paige’s life was dull until the day she planted a penny that magically sprouted her very own Abraham Lincoln. The two quickly become inseparable and it seems Paige’s days of being a lonely girl have finally come to an end. However, her newfound friendship is threatened when Connor, the neighborhood bully, discovers Paige’s secret and decides to harvest a president of his own.
What We Need:
After tackling countless hurdles and scrounging pocket change from every couch in the central Austin area, Lucky Penny is finally toward the end of the post-production process! Too much time, effort and tears have been invested into this film for us to cut corners on the home stretch. We desperately need funding that will be used toward color correction, sound mixing, composition, and promotional material as well as film festival submission fees. All of these things are necessary if this film is going to be fit for an audience, so that’s where you come in.We think this film deserves to be seen, and with your help we’ll finally be able to introduce Lucky Penny to the world!
What You Get Out Of It:
We may be short on cash, but creativity thrives on limited resources. Our perks range from standard promotional posters and stickers to one of a kind handmade art crafted by various members of our crew. We want to be as approachable as possible with any and all who lend us a hand, so perks such as original concept art and hand-sewn sock monkeys can be made to your specifications. Our lead actress McKenna Grace will even make a personalized homemade thank you card – and I think we can all agree that nothing beats children’s art. We are all more than willing to bend over backwards to show our gratitude for anyone generous enough to help us out.
Our aim in making Lucky Penny was to produce something distinctly separate from the average short film - something that we would be proud to show to studio executives as well as our parents. From the very beginning a firm emphasis was placed on originality, professionalism and quality. We also took special care to make this a collaboration so that everyone involved would take pride in their position as a member of this team. Most of us on Lucky Penny's crew are either recent graduates or soon-to-be graduates from film school and after years of seeing variations of the same film over and over again, we were ready to stand out from the crowd. There are many hopes attached to this project, but more than anything we want to produce a film that you will thoroughly enjoy.
I mean.... I guess it would also be really amazing if we make it into international film festivals too. That's also a big part of it.
Other Ways To Help That Don't Involve Your Wallet:
