Friends, contributors, helpers,
It’s been about a week since our IndieGoGo campaign officially ended, and we’re happy to say that we raised $2100 from the online portion of our fundraiser! Combined with the generous offline contributions that we received, the total amount raised came to about $3400 — just over half of our $6000 funding goal.
Even though we didn’t meet our total funding goal, we’re still committed to going ahead with this project. The need is great, in Eugene and elsewhere, for powerful conversations about the economy, and so we’re going ahead with our original dialogue plan with as few changes as we can get away with. Through the months of June, July, and August, you can expect a series of public forums on various facets of the economy and the ways that we can healthfully engage it.
To show our gratitude for the gifts you’ve given, we promised you rewards and thank-yous. Those have been mailed out over the past week; expect them to show up in your mailbox sometime soon. We also want to thank those of you who gave $10 or above publicly; head to http://letstalkeugene.org/See_our_contributors to see the wonderful people who helped make this project happen.
Of course, we know that the best “thank-you” we could give is to offer the events we promised. With that in mind, here’s a rundown of the events we’re hosting in June and July. More details are online at www.LetsTalkEugene.org. Stay tuned for more events later in the summer!
(Note: We won’t be sending out updates through IndieGoGo anymore. If you want to keep up on the project, visit www.LetsTalkEugene.org, or email email@example.com to be added to our mailing list!)

We’re coming to the end of our fundraising period! Help us finish strong!
To be clear, we’ve raised enough money already to be able to go ahead with this project in some form. In fact, our website just went live: http://letstalkeugene.org/
The dates for our June events are all announced, and we have about half of our featured guests lined up for the first two economics dialogues. With more of my attention on communication in general as a result of this project, I’ve been invited to lead two communication trainings this week, one for Occupy Eugene (open to all, Wednesday night 6:30-8:30pm, 1274 W. 7th Ave in Eugene, OR) and one as part of Lost Valley’s Permaculture Design Course:
Five days until our fundraiser is over, and we’re on our final push! In addition to the money raised here, we’ve also received about $1300 in cash and check donations — which puts us at about 50% of our total funding goal.
Help put us over our goal — by contributing, by sharing us on Twitter and Facebook, or simply by holding us in your thoughts. We appreciate any help you can throw our way!
The Dynamic Facilitation training ended, after a wonderfully action-packed three days. A portion of the gifts we received are slated for donation to this project — so we’ll be receiving about $500!
