Let's get together Michael Talavera's first 'Cajón'! - A campaign to motivate people to support a kid in Panama from the underprivileged region of 'San Felipe' in Panama City, by donating funds to collectively give him his first own percussion instrument to make a positive impact in the world.
PERCUACTION is an organization that supports social and artistic percussion-related activities worldwide, so far with successful projects and results in three continents. Its commitment to help disadvantaged children and communities around the world through the power of percussion continues and reinforces its mission through this initiative being launched in Panama, after awarding Michael as the organization's first scholarship recipient.
The scholarship was presented in Panama City in 2012 with the support of the Danilo Perez Foundation and Panama Jazz Productions and was developed throughout 2012 and 2013 with the support of percussionists that volunteered from around the world.
Michael's process as a PERCUACTION scholarship recipient ends in August 2013 and will be summarized during the second edition of the FEPECE (Central American Percussion Festival) to take place on August 15th 2013 in Panama City. Day in which we hope to present Michael his new cajón.
Thanks for your support!
The PERCUACTION Team.
What We Need & What You Get
We are aiming to reach a fundraising goal of U$1000 dollars, which is not necessarily much, but definitely enough to get Michael geared up with not only the instrument but also several accessories for it as well.
We opted for a flexible funding Indiegogo campaign, so any contribution will count for our purpose. In case we reach our goal and surpass it, we would have the possibility to fund other programs, scholarships and campaigns and support other kids and communities in different continents, so do not hesitate giving us a hand or preferable two hands ;).
In terms of the perks for Michael's campaign we thought nothing would be more meaningful -due to the nature of the cause- than having personalized messages from Michael himself to thank you for your support, for which he is so ready and excited to make, specially since those messages would definitely involve the use of his brand new instrument.
All perks will be sent to each donor's email address for download and the estimated delivery time will vary depending on the number of donations received.
As an emerging global organization we believe in the power of people that work together and as much as getting a new percussion instrument (Cajón in this case) ourselves would be extremely easy, we believe that the impact for Michael's life would be even bigger when several people worldwide reach out (extending their hands) to support him.
The ethical principles in which we have based Michael's education over the past year begin with respect for the other and understanding the importance of sharing within your capacity as a way to show gratitude to life and others for what you've been given.
NOTHING would be more important and valuable for Michael than to receive this example from other people, as a reminder and specially a motivation tool for his life in order to reach out to others and change the world.
Don't underestimate this opportunity to change the world with us. It all starts by changing one life!
Other Ways You Can Help
We understand that it's not always possible for some people to contribute financially to campaigns like this one, but we kindly ask you to please help us sharing the information and motivating people you know to support us. We would really appreciate it.
You can also like PERCUACTION's Facebook page and stay alert about our future projects, as well as helping us expanding our network of percussionists worldwide, in order to partner and support many other ventures.
And last but not least, you can just follow PERCUACTION's philosophy and open up your hands to the world to help someone, never forgetting that we are all -by natural default- percussionists.
