We are so grateful to everyone who contributed and those of you who continue to visit our campaign. Although the campaign is over you can watch the conference develop here: www.momgetsabiz.com!
Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!
A year and a half ago I launched Mom Gets A Life, a multi-media company focused on enhancing the financial power of mothers and helping women move themselves up on their priority list.
I have now spoken with hundreds and hundreds of women and the number one concern that moms face is how to create income and still be the kind of moms they set out to be.
For many women entrepreneurship is the solution. That is why on April 26, 2013 we are launching the first Mom Gets a Business Conference in New York City.
In this one day event, we will show 200 women how to create a scalable business with low to no start up costs based on their unique skill set.
This country needs new solutions. Our families need better solutions.
Entrepreneurship has a ripple effect. Small businesses create jobs. Small businesses stimulate the economy. And for moms, growing a business alongside her children creates financial security, prosperity and freedom.
What we need and what you get
Events like these take start up capital and that is where you come in. The full budget for this conference is $45,000. If we were to pass on this cost through the ticket price, most women who need to attend would not be able to afford the ticket.
Right now we simply need to raise $6,244.00 This provides us the money to pay the deposits for our venue, food and beverage, event planner, website programming and initial administration costs (see detailed budget below).
If more money is raised than this initial amount, it will go toward the remainder of the conference budget allowing us to offer more scholarships to the women that need them!
But lets talk about what is also important – what you get!
Small donations earn you my love and affection. Larger dollar amounts help fund scholarships, give you access to conference tickets at a fraction of the normal cost for you or a mom you love, consulting with me and my circle of amazing coaches and much, much more! Check out the perks for more details!
You will also be part of a growing movement not just in this country but around the world. It is time for women to have the ability to generate income AND raise babies without feeling like they have to give up a piece of themselves in this process.
By helping to fund this conference you become part of the solution to a global issue!
We've already had some amazing product sponsors step forward so every day the full budget gets smaller. Our event planner has reduced her fee by 50%, the Creative Director is donating her entire $10,000 package and the list is growing.
By contributing to this campaign, you not only affect the lives of the 200 women attending the conference but you start a ripple effect. Women that attend the event will gain skills they can take back to their communities and introduce to their friends and relatives.
By funding this campaign with even $1 you help us tell an important story. Families in this country need better solutions to balance work and family. And as that conversation grows, the solutions from government and Corporate America will also grow.
We plan to grow this conference to a 10 city tour across the US by 2018. This is important. Please help us get there!
Other Ways You Can Help
Please help us spread the word about this campaign. 20 million women currently need work that provides them flexibility. If only a ridiculously small portion of these women and the people that love these women give $1, the conference will be fully funded quickly.
You can help us by posting to Facebook, Twitter, blogs or anywhere you socialize. Be sure to grab a link from the Indiegogo share tools so we can track how far the message spreads!
Write an email to the women you know that may need this wealth creation technique. Let them know about the conference and this campaign!
Go tell a mom you know that she is doing a good job. Will that help this campaign? Probably not but the reason I started this was to support women who are just doing the very best they can, trying to be good moms to kids they love. Being a mom is a tough job and when you support a mom you make a positive impact in this world.
