Invest in something radically different and desperately needed
JKG is a totally re-imagined, reinvented and ridiculously cool independent Hebrew school piloting in Atlanta.
Through a range of premium educational and social programs, JKG creates new access points to Jewish life. We have quickly grown from six to 65 children, 50% of whom are interfaith and/or unaffiliated with another Jewish organization or synagogue.
JKG needs to raise $136,000 now to cover start-up expenses and position itself toward sustainability.
Right now every single donation JKG receives will be matched dollar-for-dollar, up to $50,000. This means your donation to JKG will be doubled.

What We Need & What You Get
JKG needs immediate funds for start-up school supplies, classroom furniture, office equipment and a playground.
We are well ahead of our projected registration timeline and expect to serve 100 students this fall. But, WE NEED YOUR START-UP SUPPORT.
Become a lead donor and know that your generosity can truly change the Jewish future.
The Impact
JKG boasts both innovative programming and an innovative model.
Innovative Programming:
JKG is amongst the first programs in the country to offer a customizable Jewish education and afterschool community for PreK through fifth graders from two to five days a week. We pick up students from school and then provide homework help, snack, and play times. On Tues/Thurs we employ a cutting-edge Jewish curriculum that makes learning fun with team challenges and iPhone apps! On Mon/Wed/Fri we offer enrichment programming like Jewish Drama and art projects.
JKG is specifically designed to appeal to unafilliated and interfaith families.
JKG focuses on building friendships because “Above and beyond Jewish education, having Jewish friends in the childhood years [impacts Jewish engagement later in life]” (Steven Cohen, 2011).
Innovative Model:
- JKG will not require ongoing support. After an initial philanthropic investment, tuition will cover expenses within three years.
- JKG is replicable. JKG addresses common community challenges and is positioned to be replicated, causing a multiplier effect and ultimately strengthening Jewish continuity nationwide.
- JKG attracts unengaged families with premium programs like JKG Afterschool Community and JKG Jr. (parent-and-me). Additionally, we host annual family events like the 2012 Singing Seder in the Garden (with 100 of our closest friends).
Other Ways You Can Help
PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE forward this to five friends or colleagues who would agree WE HAVE TO REIMAGINE HEBREW SCHOOL! By supporting JKG, you will be a part of what could be one of the most impactful focus-shifts in Jewish education since Birthright Israel.
