If you´ve ever wanted to unlock your door with a smartphone now is your chance. By pledging to support to this project, you can have your very own smartphone based access system.
KISI allows anyone to access the front- and apartment door with a smartphone. You can open the door from remote for people that need to access when you´re not there. But you can also pre-share temporary access with guests or service personnel for a certain time.
We´ve been developing KISI hard- and software from scratch the past year and bring it to you including big name brand locks so you have the best of both worlds: Proven quality and innovative application. We´ll release the first products exclusively on Indiegogo for a hammer price which you can take advantage of: The regular retail price of the included locks alone is usually above $350. So it´s a really good deal.
Daily News: Three young entrepreneurs from Munich, Germany could become New York City's next tech darlings after creating a smartphone-powered virtual key.
European Institute of Technology: Three engineers Max Schütz (26), Bernard Mehl (27) and Carl Pfeiffer (25) from Kisi have been developing a smartphone-managed entry security system for buildings, apartments, and other spaces coached by EIT ICT Labs Business Developers.
Mike Bloomberg: There have been a number of programs and competitions established by the Bloomberg Administration to encourage entrepreneurship in New York City, such as the NYC Next Idea competition, whose 2013 winner was announced last week to be KisiBox, a smartphone-managed entry security system for buildings, apartments and other spaces.
Do I have to be a specialist to install it?
Totally not. Anyone can do that: A digital deadbolt is installed at your door, a chip activates your intercom and KISIbox takes care of the internet connectivity. Because everyone has a different setting, we will send you a short follow-up questionnaire to understand your particular situation. Then you will get a custom installation manual for your specific situation. For people who might feel insecure we offer a local installation service if you live in New York or Munich for a small additional fee. We also offer super fast support as usual.
How do I know it fits in my apartment?
If you live in the U.S. or Germany, the product will likely fit your apartment. Any apartment in the U.S. that has either a deadbolt or an intercom or both can usually be equipped with KISI. in Germany you would need a key cylinder instead of a deadbolt. That is what almost any apartment has. We know there are some special cases. For those hard nuts we´ll provide you with a very detailled, even live installation guidance. Ask us before if you are unsure if it fits your home.
I don´t know if I have permission to install that.
We've talked to many landlords and they generally like that you don´t have to give out your keys anymore to cleaning ladies or guests - so less keys get lost which means less trouble for them. The fact that New York City supports our startup through NYC EDC shows that a metropol like New York City sees potential here to make the city more livable and attractive. If you are having trouble, let us know and we can help you explaining to your landlord.
What if I want to install KISI at multiple locations - like at my home and my office?
Not a problem, you can use our software as access management tool - even for whole houses or workspaces with a lot of employees. KISI´s flexible software tools allow many different use cases.
How do I get one?
Simply back us right here! As soon as the Indiegogo campaign ends, we’ll start production. And in very little time, you’ll have your very own personal doorman.

In order to keep the cost down, we need to make these in volume. Your pledge helps us create these at the lowest possible price. The future of the KISI is in your hands.
