Kiera Wilmot is a 16 year old high school junior from Bartow, Florida. She was arrested on two felony charges for allegedly setting off a bomb at her high school.
But that’s not the full story. Kiera is a budding science student, and she was attempting a science experiment that day, having heard from a friend that using two common household items in small amounts in a small plastic water bottle will create a chemical reaction similar to mixing baking soda and vinegar. A school administrator saw her attempting her experiment. The police were called, and Kiera was handcuffed and arrested at her own high school on felony charges of possessing and discharging a weapon.
Kiera needs your help. She is facing legal expenses and may be forced to attend another school for her senior year. She is being forced to complete her junior year at the local high school for middle and high school students removed from their regular school because of serious behavior problems. Kiera and her twin sister are being raised by their single mother. This fund has been established by the family to support Kiera’s legal defense. Any remaining funds will pay for her high school and college education.
Today Kiera faces criminal charges, significant obstacles to finishing school and a stain on an otherwise spotless school record. By supporting this fund today, you can help Kiera have the chance to continue her education and career goal of becoming a scientist.
