The Story Behind KF30M
My name is Tom Sheehan and I am the owner and general manager of a private, independent, health club in New York. We are a family club and about 6 years ago created Sunrise Beginnings; a specially-designed junior fitness program perfect for young athletes ages 8-16, as well as children facing weight issues or an inactive lifestyle. The Kid’s gym was built to include specially designed and engineered equipment for children.
Unfortunately, there are far too few health clubs that allow children under 17 within their facilities, and far fewer which provide equipment and programming for children. Our country is facing a crisis – the childhood obesity levels are rising at staggering rates. Approximately one third of all children are considered over-weight or obese. These kids are much more likely to develop hypertension, high cholesterol, type 2 diabetes, heart disease, stroke, and much more. They also have low self-esteem, poor sleeping habits, and don’t perform as well academically.
This is why we have developed KF30M. Kid’s Fit 30 Minutes is a fitness program for kids 8 through 16 who don’t have the option to join a health club. We understand that purchasing equipment like we provide in our club is not realistic for most people. That is why our nationally, certified, instructors have developed an at-home program using a minimal amount of equipment at a fraction of the cost of commercial grade equipment. KF30M provides the same phenomenal results as our extremely successful Sunrise Beginnings program within the club. Our fitness professionals have experience training boys and girls as young as 8 years of age. They have worked with middle school athletes as well as inactive, obese, high school students.
What makes KF30M special?
First and foremost the program focuses on results! Our experts know in order to get results a variety of exercises must be performed, and the workout must be dynamic, ever-changing. When asked, what’s the best routine to build muscle and burn fat? The answer is- no routine. Confusing the muscle is good for the mind and the body. We don’t want your mind to get bored and your body to become complacent. By altering the exercises your muscles try to adapt and grow.
Specifically, we will provide you with 12 different workouts. That’s 3 workouts each week for 4 weeks! No other fitness video for children provides that kind of diversity. After your children complete the 12th workout take 2 days off and go back to the beginning. KF30M then challenges your son or daughter to try the more advanced movement of the exercise and, or, increase the number of repetitions.
What makes KF30M different from the other home-use fitness programs for kids?
Our holistic program includes: 4 DVD exercise videos with 12 different workout programs, an instructional guide with nutrition advice, a workout calendar, and community support.
Not only does Kid’s Fit 30 Minute workout offer your family an exceptional exercise program but it also provides great nutritional information. The guidelines provided are simple to understand and easily followed. This is not an extreme diet. Kid’s need to grow and must eat. What’s important are the quality of calories consumed and the ratio of carbohydrates to fats and proteins. All of this is explained in a simple brochure.
The workout calendar is a great way to keep track of workouts, hold your kid’s accountable, and refer to when praising your children.
An interactive website will be created to provide all Kid’s Fit 30 Minute users and their families’ access where they can collaborate and receive advice on moderated forums. KF30M instructors will be active participants in facilitating the discussions as well as answering questions and providing tips.
Is it possible for my 10 year old daughter and 14 year old son to workout together with Kf30M?
Definitely, our fitness professionals have many years of experience. They provide participants with variations of the same exercise. Your 10 year old daughter and 14 year old son are able to exercise together. There is no need to purchase two different exercise programs, and your children can work-out together. This saves time and money, but they can also motivate one another. Exercising with a buddy leads to better results!
My kids are so busy with school and extracurricular activities, how can we fit one more thing into our hectic schedule?
Kid’s Fit 30 Minutes does not require a lot of time. As the name suggests you only need 30 minutes a day, 3 days a week. For instance, Monday; PUMP it UP (resistance training), Wednesday; JUMP it UP (plyometrics/cardio), Friday; RIP it UP (core, abdominal, & cardio). This exercise schedule is achievable. 1.5 hours a week exercising, rather than sitting on the couch watching t.v. or playing video games is all that is required.
Does it matter which days of the week my kid’s work-out?
Absolutely not! We do suggest you allow your children to rest one day in between each workout. So, Tuesday, Thursday and Sunday works or Monday, Wednesday and Friday is fine too.
My son has Asthma, is this program okay for him?
Not all exercise programs are suitable for everyone so please consult your son’s physician and assess his fitness level before beginning this program.
