Short Summary

Hi! We are Diamond Dust, a hard working band from Vancouver, Canada. We have been touring all across North America for a year and 1/2 in support of our critically acclaimed debut album. 

We have recently hit many bumps in the road which, if taken as isolated incidents would not have been so bad, but compounded they have literally put a damper on our whole tour. First, we got booked into a November tour that was a complete nightmare - having to play most nights, driving all day and at night after the shows for the entire month, which left us exhausted.  We then started our December by finding out that our "booker/manager" had completely dropped the ball on us and we had next to nothing else booked for a tour that is supposed to last until June 2013 (we fired her)! Second, in December, our motorhome broke down, leaving us with a sizeable mechanic bill.  Third, we had two venues not pay us the agreed upon deal, and 2 other venues called us up days before our scheduled shows to say they could not honour the shows, after we had already completed the long drive.  Finally to top it all off, Jo is now suffering from exhaustion and illness and started losing her voice at what few shows we could honour on our end. Jo's illness left us with another large bill in medication and shipping which took over four weeks to get because of holiday mail and the USA customs sending it back because they needed an ingredients list.  Now Craig is sick with the flu (but is slowly feeling better every day).  If any one of these things was to happen one or two at a time we were set up to absorb it and move on, but because it all happened within the same month, leaving us unable to work (play or book), we are in trouble.  In the end it is looking like it is going to be a total of two plus months before we get our feet back on the ground.

For those of you who don't understand why Jo is boiling her medication ;) - She has been dealing with a kidney deficiency for years now, having done the rounds of traditional doctors who kept pumping her full of antibiotics and were left puzzled as to what was wrong with her. She then turned to Chinese medicine, which had the problem pin pointed and remedied promptly. The Chinese doctor suggested she stay on the meds for a year to completely cure the deficiency but the cost of it was too big for us to absorb so she would only take it a week or so at a time as needed just to get her back on her feet. With this recent bout of exhaustion and sickness, she has again been advised to keep taking the medications for as long as possible. The Chinese doctor was kind enough to front enough herbs to get us back to Canada and complete the tour…he still needs to get paid though! ;p

We booked an entire year of touring on our own last year and had a grand ole time touring all across Canada and the States. We know we can do this and recuperate from this string of bad luck but we need your help! 

What We Need & What You Get

All we need is enough money to pay for our gas, food and meds to get around until we are able to start playing again. We are giving ourselves a month at most to recuperate. Any money that we raise will be spent on our direct survival and anything extra will be put towards the recording of our second album, which we started recording this Summer (as we had plans to use crowdfunding for the recording and videos for you guys!).

We are sorry we cannot provide any nice perks and gifts at the moment as our monetary situation is precarious at best. We can promise eternal gratitude and some hard core VIP treatment at our shows and a chance to hear our next album before anyone else does! :)

The Impact
