Justice for Captain

Captain was a 2 yr-old German Shepherd found left for dead in a Vancouver dumpster on 07/18/12. To investigate his abuser it will cost the SPCA about $10000.

Justice for Captain and other animals like him!

(Nat and Drew Show, Virgin 95.3  Vancouver, BC)

All of us at "Nat and Drew" are dog owners, and like you were shocked and disgusted to hear about Captain ...the 2-year-old male German Shepherd who was neglected, badly beaten and then left clinging to life in a garbage dumpster in Vancouver on July 18th.  How could someone do this?  It is unfathomable. Particularly as Captain was, by all accounts, a total lovebug. He was a police dog reject -- he flunked out of the police academy because he was deemed as too friendly!  What kind of monster beats a dog to within an inch of his life and then leaves that dog to bake in the hot sun for hours in a garbage dumpster?

Sadly Captain died this afternoon (July 19th).  Despite his struggles to stay alive he went into cardiac arrest and though vets worked on him for over 30 minutes they could not revive him.

This should never have happened.  But it did and it happens to animals all the time - most cases just don't make the news.  In honour of Captain we want to do something to help....and we need you.

The SPCA states that BC has some of the best animal cruelty laws in the country but to gather evidence and help prosecute these cases it costs a lot of money....on average...$10,000 for just one case.  ONE.  Let's raise $10,000 in memory of Captain.  If we can --- let's raise more...lots more!  All the money donated here will go to the BC SPCA's animal cruelty division which not only helps prosecute animal abusers it provides emergency care and helps nurse abused animals back to health.

What Can You Do?

Just donate what you can. 20 dollars, 10, 5 dollars or even 1.....it's all of us pulling together that is going to make the difference here.  We can't save Captain but we can help other animals in need in his memory, and try to insure that those that commit these heinous acts pay for them.

***NOTE - This website converts the donations into U.S Funds.

Spread the word.  Please share this with as many people as you can.  Captain's story is news right now - sadly in a few days Captain will be forgotten by almost all, except those that saw his brave struggle to stay alive.

Sincerely,

Nat, Drew, Erin and Scooter
