THE FILM

The film's message is simple: sick of waiting on politicians, lobbyists and international bodies to change the world, these folks are taking action and so can you.

Here in the UK, climate activists have taken up the mantle of direct action. With a uniquely powerful culture of civil disobedience, they enact demonstrations that are playful, audacious and effective.

This is the movement captured by Just Do It. Director Emily James spent over a year documenting the activities of climate activists from Climate Camp and Plane Stupid. This powerful cast of mischievous and inspiring characters put their bodies in the way. They super-glue themselves to bank trading floors, blockade factories and attack coal power stations en-masse, all with manners, courage and humor, as activist Marina Pepper says in the film. Granted unprecedented access, Emily follows them as they plan and enact civil disobedience to fight corporate criminals, while managing to shift the entire UK climate debate.

A totally independent, grassroots project Just Do It is more a movement than a film. From the very beginning our metric of success has been not how much money the film makes but how many people it inspires to take action. But, releasing a film in the states takes some pretty big bucks. So, to get this film to US screens we need your help.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

This $8,000 goal will enable Director Emily James to bring Just Do It to North America for film festivals in the late Autumn, the first leg of our grand plans for North American release. Once, we've hit the festival circuit we'll do a limited theatrical release and finally embark on an educational university and grassroots tour. With speaking engagements coordinated across the country, we'll be showing the film on university campuses  and opening it up for grassroots groups to coordinate their own screenings. To make the rest of this plan a reality we'll need to shatter this $8,000 goal. So give big and help us bring the empowering message of Just Do It to American audiences!
