My Journey                                                                   

Hi my name is michael jon bennett and I invite you to join me on my “Journey to Juilliard!”

I’m 14 years old and was recently accepted into The Juilliard School of Music’s pre-College program for organ performance. 

The cool thing is Juilliard invited me to audition and I was accepted less than 24 hours later. Going to Juilliard will allow me to further develop my talents among some of the world’s best musicians and music professors.

So, I’m beyond excited!   It’s a dream come true for me, but I need your help to realize my God-given gifts.

I’m a pianist, organist and composer. I love opera, Chopin and Bach. Music is my life – my passion – it is who I am and I want to share it with the world.

I can’t afford to attend Juilliard without your help!
 

My Dream

Perhaps one day I will perform in the greatest halls -- conduct my own compositions -- and tour the world!  The thought of studying classically with the best professors in the world and meeting new artists and friends in NYC – and sharing my music with the others -- is what I need right now to catapult me to the next level of creativity.

     The Importance of Your Support

The reality is that due to financial constraints, and my family’s personal situation, I can’t afford to attend Juilliard without your help.  My Mom and I moved from our small town of Chapel Hill, NC, to New York City to assume a new chapter – a new life with freedom to explore and live life to its fullest.  The finances required to make this move are currently way beyond our means. 

How Your Support will Help

• I plan to use the funds raised through this campaign for my first year of Juilliard tuition.  It's a great school and . . . very expensive.
  
  
• Also, a new piano is required. The upright piano that I've had since I was four is now with a new family who has promised to use it well.  My teachers have informed me that I need to upgrade to a new piano and the cost is $25,000 plus.
  
  
• I would be overjoyed if this Indiegogo campaign could be super successful, so that I could use some funds to attend the Philadelphia International Music Festival’s Summer Program in Croatia and the French Organ Music Seminar 2013

I have been invited to attend these institutes, but was unable to attend because of financial constraints. All of these are experiences that surround me with amazing professors, like-minded and gifted students who I relate to, learn from, and enjoy making and learning music together.  But all these great opportunities come with many expenses.
