**Our first screening at Ithaca College on May 13th was magnificent! We've received so many good comments that we know we could not have achieved without your generous support. Thank you!
Jemilas Tale is the Ithaca College senior thesis film for writer/director Christina Bryant, producer Allie Taylor and cinematographer Ayshea Khan. Currently in pre-production, the film will shoot in early March and premiere in Ithaca, NY in May 2011.
The script for Jemilas Tale is based on the personal observations about the world around us and the universal childhood experience of fairytales. The short film follows a young Black girl named Jemila, who creates her own fairytale when the books she loves don't measure up to how she sees the world.
Obviously, if the project doesnt happen, we dont graduate. LOL.
But seriously. We hope to use Jemilas Tale as the shining example of our talents as filmmakers that we can submit to festivals and future employers. This is an opportunity to show the world what we can do!
This story has the potential to impact others, too. Jemilas Tale is about a little girl finding beauty in a bad situation through her love of fairytales. We believe this story can relate to all people of any age and background.
What We Need & What You Get
Weve created a very ambitious plan. Shooting on 16mm film, casting a child actor, and building a rotating set on a soundstage in less than three months are just a few of the challenges we're meeting head-on. To help offset the costs of set construction and film processing, were asking YOU to help us in our efforts to raise $2,000.
But wait! We promise you won't walk away empty handed! We've created some great perks in return for your generosity. Donate now and become an official member of our production team!
