Hello! My name is Audra and my friend Christie and her daughter are enduring what no family should. Jadyn is fighting brain cancer and, at the tender ago of nine, she's already a three-time survivor. I'm starting this campaign to help Jadyn realize her dream to meet Selena Gomez. The good news is that Selena already agreed to meet Jadyn! Now we just need plane tickets to fly Jadyn and her mom from Toronto to LA on short notice.
With most treatment options exhausted, Jadyn's racing against time. A cure is desperately needed. This SuperGirl is a fierce survivor. In this battle against the odds Jadyn needs hope and strength more than ever. She's preparing for yet another brain surgery and more radiation treatment in mid-February. She'll also turn 10 of February 10th!
Our goal is to fly Jadyn to Los Angeles to meet Selena Gomez prior to her brain surgery. The first week of February would be ideal. Jadyn's oncologist at Toronto's Hospital for Sick Kids knows how amazing the realization of this dream would be for Jadyn and has approved the trip.
We need help! We're asking for $2500 to cover last-minute plan fare and expenses. $5, $10, or $20 at a time will help. We have limited time to make this happen, so please respond quickly and share the love. Sweet Jadyn is 9 years old and a three time cancer survivor! In the last three-and-a-half years, Jadyn has shown more strength, determination, acceptance and compassion than I ever thought possible of a child so young. She is my hero through no choice of her own.
We were thrown into the childhood cancer world on November 13, 2008 when, at the age of 5, Jadyn was diagnosed with brain cancer. Complete devastation doesn't even begin to describe how I felt that day and, unfortunately,on two other days as well. March 16, 2010 and August 13, 2011 Jadyn's MRI's showed new tumours.
Jadyn has had three major brain surgeries, 93 rounds of radiation, over three months of chemo, four eye surgeries, countless weeks in the hospital and so many pokes I've lost count. And yet she is always smiling and happy :)
