Who we are
We are Grind Over Matter Films and we are excited to present our first short feature: It’s Complicated. GOM Films creates original content in the Dallas, TX area. Before diving into our first feature film, we felt it appropriate to create a short feature first, which has turned out to be an amazing experience that we can’t wait to share with you.
What is, It’s Complicated about?
It’s Complicated is the story of Jared and Zoe. They are a young couple struggling with the understanding of their relationship status. Their past and family life have shaped who they are and, especially in Zoe’s case, left them with some emotional scars. We view the affects of family, friends and social media on a modern day relationship. These are coupled with the underlying themes of abuse, coping mechanisms, and parenting. It is our hope that when people see this short, it sparks up conversations and inner reflection.

Until then, she is enjoying working as a case manager with juvenile boys while still pursuing her acting career. With just a micro budget and limited funding we have gone through pre-production and principle photography. We are just a little short of what we need to complete the postproduction requirements such as legal fees, film festival entries, sound, distribution and others. The cast and crew have worked pro bono and we would like to give some form of compensation to them. Thank you for any help you can offer and enjoy the great perks we are offering! You are making a difference!
The funds for this campaign will be used for:
Legal fees – Copyrights, licensing, and other legal fees
Sound- 5.1 Channel mix
Cast and Crew – They worked tirelessly (and some of us are still working). We’d like to provide them with some compensation.
Distribution- DVD’s Blu-Rays, Special Edition and Digital Distribution
Film Festivals – We want to put It’s Complicated into some big festivals. Extra money that we raise will be put into more film festivals.
We are appreciative for any assistance that you can offer. One of the biggest ways you can support It’s Complicated is by sharing the link to our Indiegogo page. We encourage you to share this with friends, family, your significant other, ex-boyfriends and ex-girlfriends!
