Hi,

I'm Kathrin, I'm German and moved to Paris, France 2 years ago in order to work in a SEA agency. Moving abroad is a great adventure but it's easier said than done. Even for someone of the generation Internet.

The challenge

There wasn't any organized student exchange program or expat program from my company I could participate in. I was totally on my own with finding a job, an apartment, organizing relocation, and health insurance, just to name a few of the daily challenges expats have to deal with. A foreign country, a foreign language, a different culture. It was so exhausting and a lot of the time very frustrating!

The solution

This situation gave birth to my idea: We need an information and support service that helps people moving abroad. This already exists? Sure, there's always competition and the internet is full of forums. However, the idea is not to copy any existing service, information site or community but to create something which is ready to respond to the latest digital and mobile trends. Something that our customers will love us for because we simplify their life abroad and something that our business and service partners will love us for because we help them to grow their business by acting as a competent and reliable online partner. 

What we need to get there

Before we can connect our customers with our business and service partners through our platform, we need the website to be designed, developed and continuously managed by a competent team in order to get the business started.

Why 10.000 €?

As a first step we need to hire someone who takes care of the design and development of our website on a continuous basis and works with us in a team. We also need to pay different brains contributing their creative, managerial and technical input. We are also open to discuss sharing opportunities.

When we reach the funding goal of 10.000 €, we will get another 10.000 € from Google which will enable us to start. We know that this is only a small piece of the cake but every journey begins with a first step.

Moving abroad is a topic with global potential. However, we will start with the example Germans who move to France in which we are most experienced.  After approval of the business model we then want to enlarge it internationally.

By contributing to the funding you will help us to finance the first steps to design and develop the website that will help to attract partners and customers and to get other people like shareholders and people working with us on board. You will help us to set up a professional business that aims to simplify international life and that would help many people finding a job - especially abroad. What happens to your money if we won't reach the goal

We are optimistic that this won't happen. However, we do not want to make you feel that we go shopping with your money and you'll never see it again. Ideally we would keep the money and continue working on the project. You can be assured that 100% of your contribution will serve to finance the project. How it will look like

We haven't started to design the website yet but we've added some simple slides that might help you imagine the structure. Keep in mind that Informigration is to be international, innovative, and interactive. Digital and mobile.

There will be different stages of an expat cycle that Informigration will guide through: Information, Preparation, The new life abroad, Return

There will be different languages as Informigration is an international platform. If possible, we want to offer services in the user's mother tongue to keep life easy especially in the beginning.

There are different target groups like singles, couples, students, families, retired persons. Some of them move abroad for personal reasons, some of them have to relocate for business reasons. We want to provide each of them a specific offer according to their real needs.

We want to connect people who want to move abroad or who are already abroad with service providers answering their needs. Imagine an online travel agency but for emigrates, not for short term travellers.
