Synopsis.
"I believe there is such a thing as a search for beauty"
Saul Leiter could have been lauded as the great pioneer of colour photography, but was never driven by the lure of success. Instead he preferred to drink coffee and photograph in his own way, amassing an archive of beautiful work that is now piled high in his New York apartment.
In an intimate and personal film, In No Great Hurry follows Saul as he deals with the triple burden of cleaning an apartment full of memories, becoming world famous in the 80's and fending off a pesky film maker.
About the film.
When I was given Early Color, I couldn’t believe that a photographer with such a unique eye had been hidden away so long. So I went to New York to try and speak with Saul and to see if he would consider making a film.
A year and a half later he sort of said yes.
In the time I’ve been working with Saul on this film, we have become close. Even though he teases me about my dress sense, or my idiotic questions, he is fond of me. I hope that people who see this film enjoy their time with Saul as much as I have.
What we need.
We've shot and edited the film. It's in great shape. We just need help finishing it.
We need to sound mix the film and grade it. We want to make it as good as it possibly can be, so that people can see Saul and his amazing work on the big screen. We also need to pay our composer a little too. That's what this money will be for - finishing the film in the way it and Saul deserves.
