This is an independant campaign to help a pet shelter in rural Iowa cope with a recent tragedy & bring attention to the plight of abandoned & abused pets.
This is the story of the pet shelter that was home to a dog named "Jake".
Jake was lovingly cared for by the P.A.W (Protectors of Animal Welfare, Inc) Pet Shelter in Fort Madison, Iowa.
Jake was taken from the shelter, by persons unknown, & brutally tortured & killed nearby. The attached video will explain more about this.
Despite P.A.W.'s limited resources, they care for as many abandoned pets, like Jake, as they can. Unfortunately, P.A.W. does not have infinite resources or space. We are hoping to be able to raise funds to help P.A.W. be better able to care for the animals. The facility needs repair and better security measures to keep the animals safe. Routine operating costs such as Vet bills, utilites, and continued maintenance, make it difficult for a small town No-kill shelter like P.A.W. to keep the doors open to being able to take in and care for more animals.
We need your help!
You're contribution, no matter how large or small, will help care for the animals in their care. Every dollar helps.
If you cannot afford to contribute financially, shelters like P.A.W. can use your help in so many other ways: volunteer at your local shelter, donate items the shelter may need, visit a shelter to give an animal some attention, or simply help spread the word of this campaign.
In an effort to find the perpetrators of the violence against Jake, P.A.W. continues to offer a reward for information that leads to the apprehension of these criminals.
