Our Story

Hurricane Sandy devastated far too many of our family, friends and neighbors throughout New York and New Jersey. Inspired by a tweet from Jon Bon Jovi: "THIS IS WHAT WE DO. WE HELP OTHERS WHO ARE IN NEED. WE MAY NOT HAVE ELECTRICITY, BUT WE HAVE POWER," the Spark & Hustle team is springing into action to raise money to provide direct relief to those in our area: food, clothing and other necessities will go straight to the people who need it most during this season of Thanksgiving. As a contributor to this campaign, you'll have the tremendous benefit of seeing exactly where every dollar goes because we'll document the deliveries through photos and video each step of the way.

The Impact

At a time of such unimaginable devastation and loss in our own backyard, we'll send a strong message of love, hope and care by letting people in need know they are not forgotten. The impact of power loss and extreme flooding can be felt everywhere: lack of food, clothing, shelter and other basic necessities is enormous.  By participating in this campaign, you're not making a random contribution that you hope is put to good use.  Instead, you will see exactly how the money is spent and who benefits from your generosity and good will just in time for Thanksgiving.

What We Need & What You Get

The Spark & Hustle team will facilitate the purchases of food, clothing and other necessities for victims of Hurricane Sandy living in the hardest hit parts of NY and NJ.  We'll stretch every dollar of the contributions from generous people like you so that together we can serve as many people as possible. 100% of the money contributed will go straight to families in need. There are no administrative costs or any fine print. In fact, the only expense is a 4% fee that Indiegogo takes for facilitating these online transactions, which Spark & Hustle will cover. By pooling contributions over two weeks, we'll be able to provide kindness and comfort to those who might ordinarily not receive it. Together our power will go far.
