Hula

The hardest part about growing up is keeping your word, nothing can drive someone to do something more than the feeling of regret.

Our Story

We are film students at Tribeca Flashpoint Media Arts Academy in Chicago, IL. We are currently working on our film 2 project, Hula. We have finally reached the point where we can use the skills that we have learned throughout the past year and a half at Flashpoint. We are excited to share our experiences and talents with you and hope you enjoy the film.

What Hula is about

Hula is a story about Tommy an 18 year old high school senior who is about to graduate high school and take the next step in his life. On the way to graduation, he makes a pit-stop in a cemetery to visit an old friend. Tommy starts to reminisce and take the viewer into a childhood memory and back to those classic school bus rides to school. 4th grade Tommy sits in the back as two bullies, Cody and AJ, take his beloved and cherished game-boy. They give Tommy an ultimatum of either stealing the bus driver's favorite dashboard dancing hula girl or losing his game-boy forever. Feeling the peer pressure, Tommy decides to go against what he knows is right. He hides in the back of the bus until the last stop. When Tommy is alone on the bus on a dark, chilly night, he walks up to the Hula girl and then he goes through with it...almost. This movie tells you a little piece of Tommy's life through his memory, and finishes on a happy note as we find out how important that dashboard Hula girl ended up being to Tommy.

What We Need & What You Get

Our school gives our production some money but most of our budget comes from our fans. We are looking for $2,500 to cover our costs.  Some of our biggest expenses are food and gas for the crew members and actors. Money will also be used for props, wardrobe, and set dressing. You can help us out by donating as little as $5.00 and if you donate you can receive rewards. Check them out! We appreciate all the help!
