My wonderful supporters of the Hook to Heal book project … this is an update about the book and about my own experience of writing it and of working with this material. It’s an insight into what’s been happening creatively with me over the course of the past year. And it’s information about what’s next to come. I hope it reaches you in a good place …
The update is too long for this space so I'm attaching it as a file. Please read it to see where the project is at ...
I hope that the past few months since my last update have been treating you well.
I am writing today to give you a progress update on the release of my newest book, Hook to Heal. I had originally intended to have the book ready for release in October. However, at the time that I made that plan, I did not know that I would be accepted to an intensive grad school program that I've since started. As a result of that change, the release date of the book has been pushed back slightly.
My grad school program is in Integral Counseling Psychology, a program that blends many different types of psychology / counseling with Eastern spirituality. I am learning so many new rich things that I hope to integrate into my work with crochet healing in so many new ways. You can see a blog post I did on this here.
The writing of Hook to Heal has been progressing well. I could probably get it released ASAP if I pushed. However, I really want this book to be the best book that it can possibly be. To do that, I believe that it's better to take a few more months to polish it up before I release it. This will allow me to incorporate some of the new material I'm working with in school as well as to improve the visual layout of the book. As such, I have decided to push the release date back. Hook to Heal will be released by the end of January 2014, with a possible earlier digital release coming at the end of this year.
I hope that everyone understands that I have struggled with this decision and determined that it's the best thing for the product and therefore, I hope, the best thing for the readers of this book. I greatly appreciate everyone's support in helping this project come to life. Thank you so much.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions or concerns.
In hooks and health,
I am writing again to make sure that everyone sees this notice about the Crochet Saved My Life books. People who donated $30 to Hook to Heal were supposed to get a signed copy of Crochet Saved My Life. Those copies have all been sent out.
It appears that there was one batch that something must have happened to in the mailing process as there is an entire group of people who did not receive their copies. I am hoping that everyone who had this problem happen has already contacted me to get new copies. However, if you were supposed to receive a copy and have not, make sure to contact me and we’ll resolve the issue immediately.
Thanks again for your support.
Thanks again for your support of Hook to Heal. I’m working on the draft and looking forward to sharing my ideas with you later this year.
The copies of Crochet Saved My Life have all gone out to the supporters who selected that as a perk. Please contact me if you had chosen that option and for some reason did not get the book!
