Over a year ago we began searching for the perfect story to make into a film. With our location in mind, we spent hundreds of hours researching and finding Malaysian short stories to adapt into a perfect short film. Over 8 months ago we found that story.
The story we found, ‘Home For Hari Raya,’ is a short story by acclaimed American author, Robert Raymer. We have now adapted this story into a script for the big screen, and are well into pre-production for the film.
We have been, and will continue to work with students in Malaysia on this cross-cultural collaboration. Our partner school, Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM), has been hard at work finding actors, locations, and equipment for us to use; however, we need funds to make sure we can get all of these necessities. This is where you come in.
We are currently fundraising money through school programs, and our own creative projects, but it isn’t enough. We still need about $1500 in order to properly fund our project in Malaysia. We need to pay for things such as: Actors, locations, and equipment. With your help, we know we can reach this goal and get our project fully funded.
The most important part of this project is what it gives us. We will receive experience unlike anything that other schools can offer. This experience will benefit our future careers in ways that we can barely fathom. That is why it is crucial that we fundraise all that we can so that we can accurately portray our talents and abilities.
We cannot make this movie happen without you and anything you donate will be greatly appreciated.
All the Best,
