HJEM - Living At The End Of The World
Hammerfest (NOR) is the northernmost city in the world. A tough place at the Arctic Circle, where in winter the sun doesn’t rise and during the summer it doesn’t set for two months. A place where the magic of the aurora draws virtuose paintings of light in the sky, and the power of nature is as palpable as nowhere else in the world.
The documentary “HJEM” (home) is focusing on the fundamental question, what does the term “home” mean to people who find themselves confronted on a daily basis with the harshness and the beauty of nature? How does one live in such a place, and why do they live there? We will explore Hammerfest and it’s surrounding area over a period of several weeks to process our impressions in an innovative documentary. Combined with cinematic images of the spectacular Norwegian nature and emotional music, the main intention will be to create a personal portrait of a unique place and its inhabitants.
What We Need & What You Get
After six months of preproduction, the film crew will begin in mid-April with the five-week filming in the Arctic Circle. The finished film will be released in December 2012 with a premiere in Hammerfest and submitted to international film festivals where it will reach a worldwide audience. A television and theatrical release is planned, in addition to the film’s release on DVD and Blu-ray.
And all that does, of course cost it's price. We will and are already facing a lot of costs like traveling costs, accommodation and living expenses.
After the shooting we will have to pay for the sound engineering, the music, the dvd and blu ray production and the festival fees.
All in all we are talking about a sum of 12,000 $.
About 55 % percent are already financed by our own private money, sponsors and funds - but the last 5,500 $ are still missing. And that's where you come in :)
You can support our project and help us to reach the goal of 5,500 $ by funding this movie here on indiegogo. Every dollar helps and of course you can get great rewards that you can check out in the right column.
You wouldn't only support this project but also the art of documentary film making and spread the word about the beauty of the norwegian nature and the importance of it to the local people as well as to the whole world.
THANK YOU AND FARVEL
