Henry Valpey Fundraiser

I started this fundraiser on behalf of the friends and family of Henry Valpey. Today, he was involved in tragic accident that is likely to cause him to lose his eye as well as a hand injury, extensive facial injuries and possibly head trauma. He is currently in the trauma unit in Phoenix awaiting a consult by a plastic surgeon and eye specialist.  The full extent of his injuries is not yet clear, however, it is apparent that he will not be able to return to work for quite some time.  Regular updates of his condition will be posted as we know more.

Henry does handyman work for a living and has always been a proud man that often works long hours and often seven days a week to help suport his son, Zachary, life partner, Barbara Brown, two loving canines and a cacophonous cockatoo.  Although the recession has severely impacted his line of work, he always managed to find a way to make ends meet every month.  Without Henry's income his family will not be able to pay for the basic living expenses let alone the extras associated with the upcoming holiday season.

We set the fundraising goal at $2000 but obviously Henry and his family will need much more than that to get through the next couple months of healing, rehabiltation, and hospital bills.  Feel free to donate any amount and continue to share donate beyond the fundraising goal.  If you are local and would prefer to pay cash or check feel free give your funds to Barbara Brown, Tiffany Bender or myself directly.

Henry is one of the most generous people I know and often does free or reduced cost handyman work for those in need.  In additon, he has offered assistance to my family duing our own medical drama by helping with repairs and maintaince to our home while I was being treated for cancer.  Most importantly, he always kept us laughing with his slighty dark humor and loud but infectious laugh.  Please help us pay it forward to Henry now that he is the one that is in need.
