Sometimes a person simply wants someone to listen. Often a simple phone call can get them through to the next week. But for some a face to face moment of communication, where compassion can be seen, can go a long way to helping them make it through yet another issue. We have received an increase in requests from people in these situations, asking for Skype or iPad face to face communications. Some of these people are shut ins due to health issues, tragedy or trauma from violent crimes. Some simply can’t afford to travel to our location.
We have even received requests from military personnel stationed overseas who simply want someone to talk to who holds the same spiritual beliefs as they do. These men and women are fighting for our freedoms, and they didn’t ask you what you believe in before they joined up and put their lives in harms way for you.
We're looking to fill these requests through Skype and iPad Face to Face communication services. In order to do that, we need an upgrade in techology, and we need your help to make this a reality! Will you give a little to help a lot?
How many times have you heard someone say "I found strength from her smile" or "Looking at the face of a friend, let me know I'm going to be ok". Visual communication can say so much more than an email, tweet, or instant message. I can provide a greater sense of connection and understanding than a simple voice can.

Imagine how much different a story or explanation can be when you "see" it being told first hand versus only hearing it on the phone. Visual communication provides comfort to those who feel far away from everything and everyone they know. This can be especially true for soldiers and military support staff who are serving in other countries.
Helping those in need is fulfilling for sure. But knowing you helped someone get through one more day, feeling empowered or left with a sense of renewed purpose is truly a blessing. We want to reach out to those who have asked us for this type of communication, help and support. But we need your help!

About Me
My name is Rev. Vickie Carey, I’m a licensed Minister and I hold a Doctorate of Divinity in Metaphysical Science and a Doctorate of Philosophy in Spiritual Counseling. I counsel individuals, families and women of rape and abuse.I have been writing in the field of metaphysics and spirituality for over 30 years. But it wasn't until the recession hit that I began putting an effort into what was before that only a passion. As a former IT Web Engineer and Auditor, I began the process of changing my career at 48.
With local companies going out of business left and right (including the one I worked for), I went back to school and worked to acquire my doctorate degrees and define my own spiritual center.
In 2010 I began a small business that offers classes, services and seminars called Spring's Haven. Not the greatest time to start a new services business, but I've survived so far. In the fall of 2011 my first book "Pagan Metaphysics" was published by Schiffer Publishing. I also share my insights, experiences and thoughts on my blog Springwolf Reflections.
I have a well respected reputation in my field of spirituality and with the publication of the book, interest in my perspectives have traveled around the globe. All that sounds great doesn't it? Living your dream and working on your passion is very gratifying. But as a relatively new organization, funding for anything new is often an issue. Surviving in this economy is an even bigger issue. Those that can innovate and be open to new ideas are the ones that will grow and survive. And that's what I'm trying to do. But I need your help.

What We Need
I'm very thankful for the success I've had and the accomplishments I've achieved thus far. But I want to be able to do more and reach more people. I'm constantly being asked if I offer Skype or iPad Face to Face services. I don't; only because we don't currently have the technology to do this. The one and only lap top we use is old, no camera, no microphone and not enough computing capacity to add those things externally.We're looking to upgrade our technology to offer these services that our clients are asking for. We could do it with a computer, but that would be more expensive and it leaves out the tablet market. In researching the iPad we can skype and provide a wide range of face to face services through tablet apps. We're looking for funding for 1 or ideally 2 iPads, both with iPad keyboards to make typing easier for some old fingers.
In order to acquire equipment that can expand as the tablet market expands, and upgrade programming easier as needed, we're looking to fund 2 - Apple iPad 2 MC981LL/A Tablets (64GB, Wifi, White) with two external additions, the Apple Wireless Keyboard MC184LL/B and the Apple Magic Mouse.

The Impact
I'm a former IT Manager and I understand the great impacts a little technology can have in the world. Being a small spiritual business we do what we can to help others in greater need than we are.By offering online face to face services not only can we help people in our local area who can't always get to us, but we can help clients we've developed in other states and even a few Americans stationed in varying positions overseas around the world.
I've been fortunate to have worked professionally in IT at the start of internet technology. As such I've been writing about metaphysics online for decades. My personal reputation is well respected and I'm proud to say with the release of my book my reputation has traveled around the world. I have clients and friends from North and South America around to Europe, Africa, Australia and New Zealand and many out of the way places I'm only recently becoming familiar with. Some are locals to those countries, and some are American military personnel looking for someone to connect with spiritually back home.
For me personally opening this avenue of consultation would open a huge door to much needed revenue for Spring's Haven. The market is prime for these kinds of services. Individuals are looking to maximize their time at work by using online communication during lunch so they don't have to use up extra time to drive to a location, have a session and drive back. My business is small in the sense that it's restricted by location. With an ipad or two we could broaden our client base immensely to..well to the entire world!
