Why We Need YOUR Participation
It is well known that traditional education does not address the critical relationships between issues we face as human beings and those we face environmentally, economically and socially.
A dedicated group of lifelong educators from across the sciences and humanities have joined efforts, knowledge and creativity to start Viridis Graduate Institute:International School of Ecopsychology because we believe that education is the most powerful tool we have to make change in the world.
We need your support, and we want your participation. You bring good energy, enthusiasm, ideas, suggestions and resources that we will need to be effective, impactful and sustainable.
We can't change the world on our own, but we can educate the world with YOUR participation and support!
A Different Type of Educaton
Viridis, Latin for “green, to sprout” or the notion of “green life,” promises to be one of the most important and visionary movements in this day of profound change. -Thomas Moore, Author, "Care of the Soul"
The challenges we face in today’s world affect our lives, communities and the planet itself.
Personal, social and natural systems are all interrelated, yet often old narratives, outmoded attitudes and belief systems keep destructive practices in place, which need to change for creative new ones to develop, whether in business, government, science, arts or technology.
VGI was started with the mission to provide students with psychological competence, practical skills, and ecological awareness enabling them to redesign our world with maturity, optimism and connectivity.
Our Campaign
We need to raise $150,000 to launch Viridis Graduate Institute in 2013
Initial funding is required for administrative costs (Instructors), accreditation process, and for our technological requirements: allowing us to offer online education that is easily accessible for all individuals, language options, instructor creativity and live instruction opportunity.
We are striving to be a model for online higher education in an ever-changing world.
Your Support Makes An Impact … Around the World!
Always carry a light bulb. –Bob Dylan
Education needs a community effort to create a new framework for being a global citizen: one who cares for this planet we ALL call home - this is the meaning of ecology… and it is a psychological task.
By participating in the launch of Viridis Graduate Institute, you are acting as a global citizen. You are helping to provide educational opportunities for people around the world who care about the flourishing of nature, culture, communities, and humanity.
You are advocating for humanity's well-being, which is integrated into the health and sustainability of all of nature. There is no greater impact than supporting an educational institute and program committed to promoting the flourishing of nature and culture through our graduate’s work in the world.
Viridis Graduate Institute’s Ecopsychology program has been recognized by UNESCO under IUCN and The United Nations Decade of Education for Sustainable Development Program.
Our online graduate studies are augmented by:
- Re-Wilding week: in-person sessions that meet in environmental habitats and conservation zones around the world,
- Student Internship programs aimed at fostering mentorships, job experience and job opportunities.
VGI Degree programs include a Masters and Doctorate degree. Non-degree programs include online Executive Certificate options and trainings.
Viridis Graduate Institute: International School of Ecopsychology and Sustainability is a 501c(3) California nonprofit organization and open to people around the world.

Thank you - for helping to bring a more prepared, perceptive, empathic, and mature dimension to being a global citizen in order to address the pressing social, cultural and environmental challenges in today’s world.
