Please Help Us Fund Wavelength’s 2012 ALL CAPS! Island Festival

The ALL CAPS! Island Festival is an annual festival of independent music, visual arts and community for ALL AGES presented by Wavelength - Toronto’s longest-running non-profit, artist-run concert series - at Artscape Gibraltar Point on Toronto Island. The fourth edition of the ALL CAPS! Island Festival will take place August 11 & 12, 2012.

The aim of the ALL CAPS! Island Festival is to take independent music out of its usual context and make it accessible to new audiences – via affordable ticket prices and all-ages admittance. Blessed by beaches and parkland, Toronto Island is an oasis of calm just a 10 minute ferry ride from the city’s downtown core. ALL CAPS! is the only music festival at which camping is permitted within the city of Toronto!

About US

Wavelength has been extensively recognized for being ahead-of the curve bookers-and-essential Toronto tastemakers. Internationally recognized artists such as Broken Social Scene, Owen Pallett, Constantines, Fucked Up, The Hidden Cameras and Crystal Castles all played important early gigs at our showcase night.

The ALL CAPS! Island Festival is an ambitious festival produced by Wavelength, a non-profit arts organization that is a labour of love for its organizers. Since 2010, we have staged this event with the support of small government grants and modest sponsorships. The 2011 Festival was such a surprise success – we had to turn away close to 100 people on our opening day – that we have increased the capacity of the festival by creating an outdoor stage area to meet the demand. However, increased size means increased expenses.

What We Need

Wavelength prides itself on producing cost-effective events – and offering these events to you at a reasonable, affordable ticket prices. But these costs do add up. Your support will help us produce a festival that runs smoothly for everyone!

Your support will assist us in covering production costs such as:

  • Staging
  • Sound & lighting
  • Staffing
  • Fencing
  • Licensing
  • Marketing
  • Publicity
  • Transportation

Just as importantly, your support will also allow us to pay artists fairly. We are committed to fairly paying ALL artists that perform as part of our events.
