Help The Families of Michael D. Tysver & Cody A. Clark

On 1/4/13 (Michael's 21st BDay) Michael D. Tysver & Cody A. Clark were struck by a drunk driver. Hundreds of miles from their families. Help w/travel expenses.

On January 4th at 3am in Scottsdale, Arizona, I was taking a friend back to his hotel after Fiesta Bowl festivities and Kansas State reunions. Heading north down dark Scottsdale Road, we began to see large pieces of debris in the center of the street and suddenly a silhouette of a man waving to not come any closer. As we slowed down we realized that there were bodies in the middle of the street.

Our stomachs sank as I put my car in reverse to pull over. 2 young men lay motionless in the center of the street as the pedicab driver fell to the side of the road crying.

I saw the driver of white car (that had clearly just seen impact) pacing back and forth on his cell phone.

That is when I realized that these young Kansas fans, in town for the game, had taken a pedicab back to their hotel, when they were struck by an alleged drunk driver.

I will never forget the cries and the moans, or seeing their still bodies on the cold cold concrete. I was haunted by the assumption that they had passed on.

It was later that day that I discover that it was Michael D. Tysver's 21st birthday. And while he and Cody A. Clark chose the path of hiring a cab, another man selfishly got behind the wheel with alcohol in his system and changed two young men's lives forever.

At this point in time we know that Michael D. Tysver is in stable condition. Cody A. Clark is in critical condition with severe head trauma.

Unfortunately this accident happened hundreds of miles away from their families. I set up this fund to hopefully help the families pay for some of those expenses. Between shelter, transportation, and flights... This has got to be exhausting their bank accounts.

Any amount of money is appreciated. Small increments of $5 - $25 encouraged. No one should start out their New Year (let alone birthday) in an ambulance.

Please help these families be close to their children during this horrific ordeal.

And please don't drink and drive
