Who We Are
Hi! We’re Sudsie Q Soaps. As the name might suggest, we make soap. Not just any soap, but amazing and unique glycerin soaps that will get you clean, from the tip of your nose to the bottom of your toes, and every nook and cranny in between. Currently, we sell our soaps online, but that makes it hard to smell and feel what you’re buying until you get it. We feel the next step in the growth of Sudsie Q Soaps is to take the company from the digital realm out into the real world. We want to start selling our soaps, and future product lines, at farmers markets, boutiques, gift shops, craft fairs, and maybe even make them available at a B&B or two! But, in order to do this, we need your help.
What We Want To Do
We need to raise $3,000 in order to make the leap from pixelated soap to real soap, kinda like the opposite of Tron. What are we going to do with that money? Well, we aren’t going to Vegas for the weekend. We want to purchase more supplies, raw materials, and ramp up production to levels never before seen by our cats. We also want to build the most awesome booth ever in order to sell our soaps and bath products to the potentially unwashed masses. Most importantly, we want to get insurance, so you can feel good when buying from us, and we can back up our already fabulous products. What happens if we don’t make our goal? Well, we’ll be trapped in cyberspace forever, trying to figure out how to use soap on circuit boards. At this point, you might be asking yourself ‘Okay, this sounds great! I like soap, and I like being clean, but what’s in it for me?’ Well, at the very heart of this, there’s soap; but, on top of that, we’re offing you a chance to show your support with stickers, buttons, tote bags, specialty soaps, and for the high roller, a trip to Loveland where we’ll make soap and sample some other suds at the many breweries around here. We hope you’ll help us out, so we can continue making the world a cleaner place, one bar of soap at a time.
Specifically, in order to move from on demand sales in the digital realm, to selling at fairs, events, shows, and markets in the real world, we need to beef up our inventory. This means not only increasing the raw materials we have on hand, but increasing the number of molds and packaging supplies we have available. Additionally, we want to join the Handcrafted Soapmakers Guild to better our business in two ways- 1) we are a registered member of a known organization that is specifically tailored to what we do, which helps display our integrity, and 2) it allows us to purchase insurance, which will protect our customers and ourselves, should anything unthinkable ever happen.
What will we be buying with these funds? Well, here's a basic list:
-Over 500 pounds of soap base (inc goat's milk, olive oil, organic, and hemp seed oil)
-More basic molds such as squares, rounds, and loaves
-More custom silicone molds (These are the best molds we can buy, but they aren't cheap. A single cavity mold can run anywhere from $15 to $35)
-More colorants, fragrances, and additives for our soaps
-Shrink wrap tubes for soap wrapping (we're talking a 1500' roll here, which means wrapping upwards of 3000 soaps!)
-Shelving for booth displays
-Fabric for booth displays (can't have naked tables!)
-Signage for booth displays
Second only to the warm, fuzzy feeling you'll receive by donating is the perks you'll also be receiving. As we are vested in the business of being clean, you'll definitely be receiving some of our fabulous soap, but, we do realize soap eventually washes away, so we've included some more permanent perks, like key chains and tote bags, so you can show your support outside of your bathroom as well. At the very tippy-top of the perks list is a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Loveland, CO, where you'll meet us, help make some soap for you to take home, drink some non-soapy suds from the fabulous beer brewers in the area, and go home happy and clean.
From the bottom of our hearts and soap dishes. We hope you'll enjoy our products for years to come, whether we get offline or not, and we greatly appreciate your help.
