Who We Are
We are the Stony Brook Bolts; the Stony Brook University Quidditch team! We have been around for three years now and are excited to announce that we have secured a spot in the sixth Quidditch World Cup. Hundreds of teams from around the world are competing for a spot in this 60-team tournament and we got one!
What We Need & What You Get
The World Cup was held on Randall's Island in Manhattan in November of 2011, meaning minimal expenses for us. This year, both fortunately and unfortunately, it is being held in Kissimmee, Florida (Where Disney World is!). The problem with this is, obviously, that it will be quite expensive to get the whole team down to Florida for a weekend trip, so we will need a bit of extra funding this year. Here's the long and short of it:
- We need approximately $1000 from this campaign to fully cover our travel and lodging expenses. All additional profits from this campaign will go to fund our club for its future endeavors, such as purchasing legitimate jerseys for our team.
- We are offering some fabulous perks for your contributions! If you so choose, you can donate the required amount for any of these fine products and recieve them as a thanks for assisting us in our cause! Some of these items are courtesy of some great talents:

What it Means to Us
Quidditch is a tremendous part of our lives in college and participating in the World Cup is a life-changing experience. We were absolutely thrilled to participate last school year and we are really looking forward to participating for years to come. Quidditch is one of the most unique, engaging, and friendly sports out there and we would love to show everyone how great the sport can be and perhaps even make our school proud! A donation from you is another step forward in our goal not only to get to the World Cup, but also to growing the fantastic Quidditch community.
Pass it on!
While we will gladly accept donations of any amount, we understand that our fellow college students have very tight budgets. If you can't make a monetary contribution, feel free to spread the word to your friends and family! We greatly appreciate any help we can get.
