Help us put on this show!
Students at Santa Clara High School have been begging their teacher to let them choose a dramatic show for the Spring Musical and this year he's given them a deal; Next to Normal in the Fall if they can raise the money on time.
For a lot of us, this show has been an inspiration and helped us find our passion in theatre. To be able to actually perform this show would be the dream and opportunity of a lifetime, not to mention a chance to expand our range as actors.
So, in the mood to help some young aspiring actors?
Where's All this Money Going?
Every cent of that $1,500 will be going to purchasing the rights to even perform the show. We already have the SCHS theater reserved and things like costumes and set will be donated from parents or recycled from previous shows.
We'll offer tickets to the show to anyone who donates $3 or more. We'll also offer video recordings of any song of your choice from Next to Normal, bows, and any donation will get you a shoutout in our program letting everyone else know what a saint you are for helping us!
In the unfortunate event that we don't reach our goal in time combined with what we might earn in physical donations, the profits from this campaign will be going towards our Spring Musical How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. We already have money set aside for the rights of that show, but unfortunately, we need $4,000 just to use the pit in our theater.
The Impact
If this were to pull through, it would mean the world to everyone involved; the actors, musicians, conductor, even our teacher. The chance to do a musical of this extremely high calibur is such an honor and will probably be the most valuable experience any of us will have as actors in our high school career.
This is our first time raising money for a show because of recent budget cuts, but we will all work our butts off to do this show!
