Help Kris Martin Become NASCAR's First Deaf Racer
Kris Martin was born to race!
Kris is following in his grandfather's footsteps and is trying to race his way all the way to NASCAR. But Kris was born profoundly Deaf. Technology helps Kris hear his Crew Chief and Spotter so he can race safely but sponsors are not willing to take a chance on him...yet. Your help in funding his racing this season can help Kris show sponsors he will be an excellent representative for them all the way to NASCAR. I am working with Kris Martin Racing and his family to help them make this dream come true.
Seat Time is Expensive- Help Us Raise $25,000
Kris Martin needs a few races to get prepared for his big chance later this season to race in NASCAR's K&N East Series which has helped current stars like Joey Logano reach the highest level of racing. A three race tune up will cost around $25,000. All of the funds raised through this effort after expenses will go directly to fund races for Kris Martin with Lee Faulk Racing, an established driver development program that has invested their time and effort in Kris because they believe in his ability. If we exceed our fund raising goals we will be able to afford even more races this year.
Have you ever worked hard for that one dream that seemed out of reach?
With your help we can prove to the world that anyone's dream can come true and a Deaf racer can make it all the way to NASCAR.
Your Help Needed
All donations big or small can help us reach our goal. You can also help us out by joining the Kris Martin Virtual Pit Crew and help us use your social media friends to help spread the message. Our top Virtual Pit Crew members will earn fun prizes!
About Kris Martin
26 Years Old from Burlington Ontario
Ask Kris Martin to do something for you and his standard response is “Not a problem.” Driving a race car that reaches speeds of over 200 miles per hour? Not a problem. Speaking to over 300 hundred students who look at him as a role model? Not a problem. Being born profoundly Deaf? Not a problem.
Kris was born to race. His Uncle Warren Coniam and Grandfather Doug Syer are both in the Canadian Racing Hall of Fame. Kris is also a strong proponent of giving back to the Deaf community. A role model for many, Kris speaks to children and charities across North America. His speeches give hope to not only the children, but to their parents to help them see that their children can defy any odds that may be placed against them.
What some call a disability Kris thinks might have helped him develop his talent as a racer quicker as a child. He learned to race by primarily using his tactile senses, and this has given him a great ability to feel the track and use his instincts. Today Kris is able to receive partial hearing through the use of a surgical implant he had done when he was 8-years old. Phonak Hearing Systems created an audio device that uses radio frequency which allows Kris to communicate safely with his spotter, crew chief and race officials.
Lee Faulk Racing a driver development team has a ride waiting for Kris in the NASCAR K&N East Series when he is ready. This will happen if he is able to find sufficient sponsorship. But first we need to prove to potential marketing partners that he is right for their program and has the talent to represent their brand.
Will you help us make Kris’ dream come true?
