Help End Policing for Profit

Americans for Forfeiture Reform does strategic research and impact advocacy to reform asset forfeiture laws, protect property rights, and end the Drug War.

You don't have to commit a crime for the police to seize your property and keep it for themselves. It's called civil asset forfeiture, and it's worse than just the government seizing cash, cars, and property...it's a way for the government to fund SWAT raids, purchase surveillance equipment, and finance the Drug War.

Do you want to end the War on Drugs? Do you really care about marijuana legalization? Do you believe that property rights and Constitutional rights are important? Do you want to help Americans regain democratic control over their government?

If we were to abolish civil asset forfeiture, the economic engine behind the War on Drugs would grind to a halt. The most serious threat to the marijuana industry would evaporate. Americans would be free to carry cash and travel unmolested. Law enforcement would spend time on crimes of violence and property, not hunt for property to seize.

What We Are Doing

Americans for Forfeiture Reform is working in some important ways to end civil asset forfeiture. We need your financial support to make this happen:

  • We help people who've had their property seized access the resources they need to fight and keep their property
  • We investigate and publicize law enforcement corruption
  • We work to educate legislators and the public in order to support the abolition of civil asset forfeiture

Your donation will allow us to continue helping people fight for their rights, investigating the police, and advocating reform where it counts.

We've testified to the California Senate, to city councils across the nation, and spoken on behalf of people victimized by SWAT raids, highway robbery, and other injustices.

We are cited and/or published in the following publications: the Peter Shiff Show, the Cato Institute, The Volokh Conspiracy, Radley Balko, the Huffington Post, Guns.com.
